I noticed someone posted a Northeastern masters acceptance on Friday. I still haven’t heard anything from them and thought I did well at the interview. Did you hear from the person you interviewed with or from the university?

I got an email from the person who interviewed me. Best of luck!

I just received an email from the coordinator asking if I was available for a faculty member to call this afternoon. I am hoping that it is the news I want to hear, but do programs ever reject a person via phone?

I haven't heard of anyone being rejected over the phone - I think that could result in a really awkward call for the coordinator.... I have heard of people being waitlisted over the phone though, or they might want to talk about funding or prerequisites?  Of course, it could be acceptance, too!  Good luck!

Thankfully, it was an acceptance!

I'm wondering if anyone who is following this thread accepted a position at the University of Missouri for the School Psychology PhD program? I saw one other poster in the results page. I accepted a position there and would love to chat with anyone else who would be an incoming student. Thanks!

I was offered admission into a program today and the letter does not explicitly discuss funding. It encourages me to apply for assistanceship and provides the application. What is the best way to format an email asking about funding? Should I wait for an official acceptance letter from the college before emailing? I don’t want to come off rude but realistically I can’t attend the program without tuition coverage and a stipend. The NASP website says the program offers 100% to PhD students.

Long Answer: Did the program talk about funding in the interview? Most places that I interviewed with said something along the lines of "historically all of our students have been fully funded for the past XX years... we technically can't guarantee funding; however, we have never had an issue with it." If they mentioned funding at the interview, then I think it would be appropriate to email your point of contact at the program and inquire about assistantships.

One program that I was admitted to encouraged me to apply for GA positions prior to me formally accepting their offer.

One program that I was admitted to said (at the interview) that GA positions were available with a tuition waiver, but then when I was admitted, they were very vague about the financial aspect. I emailed them about it and they said that tuition waivers were a scholarship that I would have to apply for and that they were getting their "list" and "budget" together and would let students know after they knew who was going to accept.

I had ANOTHER program tell me that they had funding but there was a "faith" component in that I had to just trust the process. I spoke to current students at this program and they were a little more transparent and said that it took about 2 weeks for some ppl to get GA positions but that everyone ended up getting funded.

The program that I eventually accepted actually laid out their financial assistance in the acceptance letter. I really appreciated that. They also were the program that mentioned GA positions and financial assistance in the interview process.

I still haven’t heard anything from my schools. I wonder if the coronavius is holding up the admissions process?

I talked to two program coordinators and they told me that admissions has been put on the back burner while they focus on transitioning to online classes for the rest of the semester. That may not be the same for every school thought. You could always email your schools and ask.

That’s what I was thinking for the most part. Thank you!

I applied toUMass, Northeastern, William James as well as Rhode Island College and Worcester State!

I've heard back from NEU, and WJ- how about you?

UMass is my top, but I just realized one of my reccomenders never submitted their letter so I am wondering if they are sending out anything yet.

I just got accepted to WSU's school psych program for this fall! Have you decided where you're going get?

Just got invited the other day to Worcester State University's School Psych program and have accepted!! Tip for everyone, if you haven't heard back from your school of choice yet I'd suggest emailing the program director. A lot of schools have put off decision making due to everything that is going on in the world right now! Best of luck to everyone.

I have! I decided to go to UMass Amherst because it made sense financially plus I really like the faculty and connected with their research. I definitely thought about Worcester State but UMass was a better match for me. Good luck next year! Hopefully we’ll get to start in person :)

I wonder how much of that affects how graduate progrmas accept applicants now.
