Hi all!

Hey!

I applied to the biomedical science program for fall 2020 at NYU too.

I also applied to UC Berkeley, UCSF, and Rice University (All in the US)

I'm pretty nervous about my applications since my undergraduate GPA is pretty low, plus im international (From Canada), but hoping for the best!

Ah that's awesome! Great schools!

I'm from the UK so I'm international for the US programs. I went to high school in the US though so I'm familiar with the country :)

In terms of your GPA, try not to worry too much. I'm glad the admissions teams look at more than one aspect of our applications!

Good luck! I'll do my best to update everyone on interviews (fingers crossed I get some!), etc.

We got this!!! :)

Yea, I'm definitely trying to stay positive. But thank you!

What schools are you applying to? Did you move back to the UK after high-school?

Crossing my fingers for you!

I've applied to the schools mentioned in my original post (NYU, Johns Hopkins, ICR, and Imperial). I think I'll stick to these four for now, though I'm keeping my eyes open for other opportunities :) Hopefully I get some acceptances!

Yes I moved back to the UK after high school to complete my undergrad, etc.

Have you lived/studied in Canada your whole life?

I applied to

Johns Hopkins (CMM and BCMB)

Cold Spring Harbor

Gerstner Sloan Kettering

NYU Sackler

Georgetown (Tumor Bio -- where I am currently getting my MS)

MIT Biology

Harvard BBS

Mayo Clinic (experimental therapeutics)

St. Jude

Duke (Cancer Bio)

UPenn (CAMB)

I'm crazy nervous and I am super worried about scheduling interviews if I am lucky enough to get some because I work 15 hrs a week and go to lab and class ? ?

Anyone else apply to these programs?

Hi there! I applied to:

UCSF

CU Boulder

CU Denver

Mayo Clinic

UT Austin

UCSD

Oregon Health & Science University

UC Santa Cruz

University of Washington, Seattle

UC Berkeley

UCSB

Stanford

I'm working right now (graduated this past May), so I had a lot of time on my hands to apply to grad programs, lmfao. Super nervous/excited to hear back. But I know with the number of competitive programs I'm applying to, I'll get a lot of rejections, so I should probably really appreciate the wait time where I can pretend I'll get in.

jeeze, I did not take in that your username was the same AT ALL lol. But cool! you picked some good schools, and im sure you will :)

I did all of my schooling in Canada and then moved to the US during my senior year for a research opportunity. Have been working in that same lab as a tech for over a year now and feeling VERYY ready to be in school again.

Hey!

I applied to:

UNC Chapel Hill

Vanderbilt

University of Kentucky

University of Virginia

And my alma mater, a small state school

I already turned in all the applications so it’s just a waiting game at this point. I’m not too confident about it but I gave it my best shot! Good luck to everyone this application cycle!
