Hi guys! I'm a domestic student and I applied on January 30th - my application still says "documents received" too ?

I applied on January 23rd and mine still says “documents received.” Maybe they are forgetting to change them to “under review” for everyone? I have noticed some people who applied later than me have had their app changed to “under review,” so I’m not sure if they’re checking applications in the order that they’ve received them. Wish they’d give us more clarity on their process ...

Hoping to have it changed to “under review” soon, because I have some other offers I need to respond to before the end of April ...

From my understanding, international students create their own seats (that is why they pay the full amount) whereas domestic applicants compete for a certain number of seats that are funded publicly (which is why they pay less for school).

I'm also domestic and had documents in by Jan 21. My status JUST moved to "Under Review" after I emailed admissions asking if there was a timeline for when that would happen.

I know officially they said they're reviewing in order, but I also find this a bit hard to believe because I know of other domestic students who applied after me, and who already got offers lol

Nice! Wish that had worked for me. I asked them if they had a timeline as well but I received the generic copy-pasted response that others here have received.

I am anxious, because I need to respond to other offers. I applied by the early deadline hoping to have my application processed before April. I thought they’d process them in the order they had received them ... but that doesn’t seem to the case, which is a bummer.

Hoping I hear back from them soon ?, because I have to make a decision soon.

I just emailed Andrea, and my status changed to 'under review' within a few minutes lmao

Hey congrats! How do you calculate your 'final year average'? I feel like I remember reading somewhere that they calculate your GPA using your last 10 third or fourth year courses.

The final year average is calculated by either taking in your CGPA (if that's better than your final year), or selecting the best 3rd or 4th year courses from any of your years (so not necessarily your last 10). The credit load (of the courses being selected) would have to total to a full year.

Of course! I submitted my application back in December. I have a digital media and graphic design background, from Northeastern University GPA:3.86. Some UIUX and digital marketing experience in startup company. I guess it's because I submit my application very early.

Got confirmation of conditional acceptance from Andrea two days ago! I had asked her about the tentative timeline for the decisions, three days later I got the reply that I have been accepted and will receive the official letter soon :D. Feeling Elated!!!!!

Yes, same here! Now I'm thinking about funding. There's a WhatsApp group floating around here for accepted MIs, are you in it?

I think it is not easy to get fundings in this program, where else did you apply btw?

Just got an conditional offer from MI! There are two concentrations listed Human-centered Computing and UXD, not sure whether that mean I could choose or something. Will the funding info comes in sometimes recently? I applied in early Jan, emailed Andrea two weeks ago since I got another offer due at Mar 15th and they kindly started reviewing my application immediately, and the results comes in fast

Just received my offer. Applied in late Jan and emailed Andrea for faster evaluation process since I had to get back to another offer next week.
