Fall 2022 Business Ph.D. Applicants

Seems like HBS OB has sent out early invitations to have conversation with the doctoral program office, does anyone know if this is a necessary condition for getting a formal interview with faculty?

I believe it is. Like, I marked HBS OB as implicit reject at this point.

Got an invitation from hbs ob (micro) today to discuss my application with a director from the program office (I guess earlier posts in the results page about hbs ob were from the macro track). Seems like the notifications will be sent out a bit late this year as compared to the last cycle, best of luck everyone!

Btw, does anyone know what to expect in conversations with the program office?

Super duper congrats. Look at the business phd wiki questions and answers list— the schools are “anonymized” but both Stephen and Megan chose HBS so it’s easy to see which overlapped.

I’ve heard from a couple and have an accept or two. Just more like T25 programs vs T10. You’re gonna do great!

 

Edit: for those reading, it depends on where you draw the line for “accept” between “unofficial” and “issued funding letter.”

0 straight accepts. 1 was a regular interview into unofficial, another was a confirmation of a continuing conversation that started in April.

Have you posted your results including your interviews on the results page @Vyndian? When you say a couple of interviews, I assume you aren’t using the literal definition of couple = two since you said you’ve had an accept or two and haven’t indicated a 100% conversion rate?

A. I posted a single result there under interview.

B. I mentioned earlier in the thread I wasn’t one of the lucky/well-deserved HBS interviews so I’m definitely not batting 100.

edit: didn’t really feel the need to post much more to the results page since I’m doing so here and it’s still quite early…

I haven't heard from other schools yet. Guess it's gonna be a little late this year, or maybe some schools won't do an interview (Stanford micro ob didn't arrange interview last year)?

Hi everyone! Very late to this thread but micro-OB applicant here. I have heard back from only HBS so far and a couple of social psychology programs I applied to. Does anyone know if the Yale SOM visit day invite on the results page is legit?
