I got an interview invite for UT Southwestern Organic today! The main interview day seems to be the same as the UT Austin date I signed up for which is unfortunate.

I'd also be interested if anyone heard back about Caltech organic or chem bio (I'm not personally expecting to get an interview though).

Hi!

I see that some people have posted about acceptances/interviews from northwestern. If this applies to you, what division did you apply to? I'm trying to figure out if NW organic has made any decisions yet. Thanks!

I just got in today for inorganic! I'm excited lol

Slightly curious, has anyone in this thread also applied to the NSF GRFP to fund grad school? It seems as if fewer students applied this year which is unusual.

I did

Anyone heard from UCI for organic? Also, it seems like Caltech did not send out interview invitations before Christmas this year. Are we expecting to hear something soon?

Still haven't heard from UCI ?

has anyone in physical chemistry heard anything from MIT, Caltech, UChicago, Princeton, or UC Berkeley?

No word for me from Caltech, I'm in Theoretical/Computational. Perhaps they aren't doing interviews this year? It seemed like interviews were new last year, so perhaps they decided against doing more of those.

I have a feeling decisions/interviews are possibly delayed because of Caltech's recent loss (Grubbs) since he was still an active professor, I'm only guessing (and I think this would only go for organic).

I finally caved in to making an account once Caltech interviews were mentioned lol??

Did organic division at Caltech send out interviews? If not, can someone that is organic and receives an interview post about it here whenever they do? Desperately wanting to know if I will get an interview or not lol, I can't play this waiting game

On this note, does anyone know how it works if you don't get in somewhere? Will you also get an email around the same time?

I believe rejection notices are generally sent out much after acceptances/interviews

I just saw someone posted a rejection from Berkeley. This is the first rejection I have seen in this cycle and I was wondering if anyone in organic heard from Berkeley.

I'm organic, I got a call from a Berkeley professor on New Years.
