Obscurepun Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 I spoke too soon, today it is for Duke! Claiming an acceptance. wubble, Realbadgal, TerribleTowel and 2 others 5
coffeeman123 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Congrats to everyone accepted at Duke! To those of us who were not accepted, has anyone received a denial email?

A good news to share with you is that our stipend this year might be 29k+ and 90% cover on insurance, sources is a first year PhD in my school who was admitted to washu last year when he was applying! Oh wow, that's nice! I see that there's variation in the stipend - did your classmate end up going to Wash U, or was that the offer they got last year?
okiedokie..... Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) Did anyone get an offer from Emory? Only saw rejections on the result page ? When do they release results ? Edited January 27, 2023 by okiedokie.....

Gabbiew Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) At this moment I guess my application was done with Notre Dame. Today is the deadline for virtual visit invitation but I haven't heard anything from the DGS. Quite disappointed since it is one of my dream schools. Also, given that there aren't new posts about interview on the GradCafe survey, I would assume only a small sample of applicants were offered invitations to the visit. Anyway, congratulations and best luck to those proceeding to the interview! Edited January 27, 2023 by Gabbiew
macshmai Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Do you think we will hear back from Minnesota this week?

It seems to be an annual tradition. 11 hours ago, lalalalalala123 said: Didnt receive anything. But they look so real Don't worry about it. Acceptances tend to come via email between Feb 7-10 and rejections follow on the portal. 10 hours ago, polisci320 said: Last year Princeton acceptances came in on Feb 7 Precisely. 10 hours ago, MooseTracks said: do you guys think the troll is reading this page? earlier, I had asked when people thought the results would come out, and the next day coincidentally a bunch of results were posted (even tho the troll usually appears earlier in the cycle). and someone brought up that no rejections were posted up today, and then a bunch of rejections were posted a few hours later. seems sus. Probably. Happened last year too - always about a week or so before acceptances are sent out. To all my fellow anxious Princeton people, stay strong --- the lucky few who make it will get emails in a little over a week. wubble 1
Lugduname Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Received an offer from Emory and UC Santa Barbara (PhD in Chem) ? (2 out of 4 of the schools I applied) However, UCSB hasn't sent out the official letter yet, but the committee reached out to me to say congratulations. Has anyone been in the same issue with UCSB? theory_philosophy 1
Norah1994 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 So I'm guessing that Penn state is done with its international acceptances, I'm expecting somewhere around 5 more American acceptances (yes, I am completely making this criteria up to help me analyze the decisions). Anyone applied to Cornell, Umass, UCSB, USC or Utoronto?

tryingmybest123 Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Also claiming Duke’s acceptance (political behavior), did anyone’s letter say something more than standard stipend?
Hazel C Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Hi, I am very nervous waiting the decisions. To be ready for the results, Penn State, Georgetown : I haven't received any interview offer. Assuming rejection Pittsburgh, Northeastern, Rutgers, Boston Uni : No news yet Is it correct? Please let me know if anyone knows about this!

juliacar Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Never assume you’re rejected. You are not rejected until they tell you that you are Obscurepun and marxford 2

Seems like either next week or the week after.

And Rutgers probably not until mid feb either
politicallygrad Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Can't wait for February to arrive. I know that Cornell has already gathered it's admission committee. NW says "in a few weeks" (assuming 3 weeks). Waiting for BU but I lost my hope for January. My gut tells me it is postponed to first week of Feb Obscurepun 1

Obscurepun Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Thanks! I didn’t think anyone interviewed so was surprised to see so many interview requests on the results page. Perhaps just a select few actually interview?
randomsinging Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 (edited) Claim a Brown interview with an admission committee member. CP. Not sure if they send invitations to all applicants though. Edited January 27, 2023 by randomsinging
Crossed_fingers Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 Just got an email rejection from UW-Madison. They said theyve “completed their work for the 2023 entering class”.
