I jsut received another update on Jan 17. However, no indication of whether or not my application reached the next step.

I think on the application page it would mention the DOD panel. My application isn’t even loading right now lol

Mine shows that it was last edited on Jan 22 12:45am (EST). No update on the status (or the round)... Before this it was Jan 12.

Has anyone else gotten a post SME review period update (after Jan 13th)? My application still says Jan 12th. If they do the mass update like last year, my expectation would be Friday at the earliest.

@coughcoughcoffeeThanks! The second round is the DoD branches review the top 30% of applications and decide on the winners. There is no interview component.

I also got the '2nd Round Reviews - DoD Panel' update today! Overall: 11/23/22 -> 12/15/22 -> 12/22/22 -> 01/12/23 -> 01/25/23 (ARO-Biosciences)

@fellowshipstress will there be no updates for the ppl who didn't get to the 2nd round? or will everyone get some kind of update by today or tomorrow? is this happening all together? or may differ by reviewers and disciplines?

@coughcoughcoffee The last edited date will change, but it will just say “submitted” if you didn’t advance. I assume everyone will get the update today or tomorrow. I don’t know for sure though.

I've been refreshing the page for like every 5min and just now it was updated to 2nd Round!!! Are they awarding roughly 7~8%? If 30% gets to 2nd round.. that's another 30% or less than that from here on...man.. Good luck everyone!!

Don't mean to be pessimistic, but it looks like the funding rate last year was around 1-2%. So even if you make it to the DoD panel, only one in thirty of those individuals will actually receive the fellowship. ?

Congrats! I'm thinking I didn't make it to second round (unless they're not updating them all at the same time). Better luck next year I guess haha
