Is anyone else just waiting for one last school that seems to be taking its sweet time?

I'm waiting for Yale's American studies program. Just say it. Do you want me or not because I'm not going to be waiting in vain. Are you waiting for any other schools?

more or less. Waiting on both UNC and UGa, but really only waiting on UGa-- UNC would be a lovely surprise, but certainly not expecting it.

Haha, UNC would be an awesome surprise for me too! I don't think it's going to happen though, alas. sad.gif

Waiting for two (UGA and Tulane) and also waiting to hear about funding from my one acceptance.

I'm kind of over waiting, but at the same time, I just want to hear something... anything!

For anyone who applied to UC Irvine, they will be sending out all decisions by the middle of the month. For anyone who applied to Oregon, their decisions are in the mail!

I'm waiting for 10, but you are all PhD and mine are all MA except Temple. I've heard from two schools, both were positive, but I'd like to know how many options I truly have. I was told funding offers would be coming soon, too! We'll see what happens. Is it normal for MA apps to find out a few weeks later than PhD or should I just count on them all as auto-rejects?

This is really the funding window. Since most MA deadlines are later, they tend to notify later. That also means that funding is probably not in the cards.

Yes, the last school I'm waiting to hear back from is Georgetown! The results page says that people have been receiving their letters in the mail over the past two days, so I can't wait to get home and check my mail today. Not that I'm expecting much good news...I just want to know.

I'm still waiting for my rejection from Columbia, but I've already accepted an offer from NYU, so I feel so much better now than two weeks ago.

The last one to trickle in is South Carolina, who said I ought to know by "early April". Anyone else think that's a bit late?

Alas, I don't expect good news from this one, since my other three all said no. Last hope ...with little there.

that does seem a bit late. I heard back from SC mid Feb, but it looks like you are applying to the public history program, so I suppose they are on a different schedule. Regardless, hope you do get word sooner than April.

I applied to the Phd for American history to 1877, with a public history minor field.

I noticed a few responses on the results page and emailed the secretary in the department. Her answer was sympathetic and just let me know they were still deciding. I wasn't quite sure what to make of that since I knew others received word. I appreciate the thoughts, I hope so too (though like I said, don't have much hope left ... pretty discouraged at this point).

well for what it's worth, there are others on this forum still waiting to hear from SC as well. US to 1877 is my field as well- though I was admitted as an MA student. Who did you apply to work with? I mentioned Ford and Smith in my letter there, as my research focus is on slavery and politics in the upper south.

I mentioned Spruill and Marsh, although there are a few people I wouldn't mind having sit on a committee for me.

Spruill was extremely supportive in email correspondence that we had, (which is always nice) as she was my main contact for gender issues and part of the material culture studies.

Has anyone gotten word from UC Boulder? I applied for an MA, so it seems like those responses might come later...

South Carolina told me the same thing. Kind of frustrating, since I would like to have a decision essentially made by then.

Well, at the very least there is that April 15th absolute deadline, which isn't that far away. I am doing what I can to put my mind off of the last couple schools out there, filling my days with work, and trying to enjoy what will be my last few months in this city.

That however doesn't explain why I am here posting. ;)

How are things coming along at Central Michigan, if you don't mind sharing?

You aren't the only one waiting. After hearing 3 quick no's (2 from Vandy, 1 from AZ State), I'm still waiting to hear from Arizona, New Mexico, and 2 UTEP programs (admissions hasn't closed for one yet). Hopefully soon though!
