SapperDaddy Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Ok, I will set odds at Princeton and Yale at even that we hear something this week. Harvard is 3 to 2. Dartmouth I think I'll follow Oseirus' 8 to 1. Brown I'll put at 4 to 1. Columbia at 5 to 1. Penn I think 3 to 1. Cornell at 6 to 1.

Hopin'-n-Prayin' Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Shout out to tmp (THE...OSU!) and KelKel (who cares about the funding at UT-D, Miami-O is an original 'public Ivy'!) I already had to update my list for you guys!
SapperDaddy Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Is it cheating if I use this web.ics.purdue.edu/~ssanty/cgi-bin/eightball.cgi ? I think if you brought that to Vegas, it would get your kneecaps broken.
TMP Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Shout out to tmp (THE...OSU!) and KelKel (who cares about the funding at UT-D, Miami-O is an original 'public Ivy'!) I already had to update my list for you guys! Don't worry. I actually learned to put down "The" before Ohio State University. My POI made that correction on my SOP. Sometimes I think about writing to ESPN because they refer that school as "OHIO STATE" on the scoreboards drilling that in my mind...
diplodocus Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Congrats TMP and Haig on Ohio State! That's great news and a great school. I guess I can only hope I've been waitlisted.
kriscarlson Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Well, rejected from USC today... I feel your pain, AFB! Hoping for much better news in the near future... For now, consider me happy for those who have received (glorious) acceptances and commiserating with those who haven't yet. Good luck everyone!
simone von c Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Warmest congratulations, Tickle! Super happy for you!!!
uhohlemonster Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 TMP - MASSIVE CONGRATULATIONS! You rocked it this year!
RevolutionBlues Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Congrats to the Cal admits. Does anyone want to claim it and, if so, could you clarify whether the email was from the department or a POI? Thanks!
oseirus Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 And we begin again ... greetings my fellow historians ... carpe acceptance emails!
Kelkel Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Slow day y'all. Both here and at work. If the day keeps thumping along like this, I don't know what I'll do!
TMP Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I got four hours of sleep last night... I didn't even make coffee this morning! So... so unbelievably excited about my funded acceptance. I just got off the phone with my MA adviser. I was a little worried that she'd endorse Wisconsin because she really knows my POI there. To my surprise, she actually looked out for my best interests and said that OSU has so much to offer for me and thinks my POI there will simply be excellent for me. From here on, I just need to wait for Wisconsin's funding package and give my POI there a chance. *trying to keep an open mind* Good luck everyone!

It's great when everything works out perfectly like that
CageFree Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Well, I got rejected from Brown. Not hurt or anything... I know my application at that time wasn't strong.. it got better as time went by. I'm expecting a rejection from Wisconsin too.
uhohlemonster Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Re: brown. Me too. Sort of sad but also relieved that I don't have to consider leaving NYC for Providence (and my partner said that was the only place I applied that he wouldn't want to move to.) so it goes...
CageFree Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Yeah, Brown was attractive but I am very happy with Davis and I think it's a great fit for me. At this point there's only one school that I would possibly take over Davis and I'm likely to get rejected there too LOL.
cooperstreet Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 uhohlemonster- What's your field? When do you think we are going to hear about Rutgers?
cooperstreet Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Anyone want to claim the rutgers interview-via-email on the results page?
Ganymede18 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 any admissions to brown? my partner's status is still no decision.
pugsley87 Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 No status at this point is a good thing probably--that means either an accept or a wait list.
Kelkel Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Gah, Duke yesterday and Brown today. What a massacre! Sorry to all those rejected.
