steveotron
does anyone listen to grouper? I put this song on repeat, turn on the kettle, and watch the snow. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gkANP6xnVgs I liked that song a few others off the album, but I get a little bored with the rest. The album cover is also really creepy.
katanianQ
Well I've been listening to a lot of Obtuse Corrosion.. their latest album, monolithic steamshovel, has gotten a lot of critical acclaim and rightly so. I was loving Squirrelplastic Skydiver until i found out that they sold the rights to one of their songs for a honda commercial.. bastards... fenderpete
Awesome recommendations from a few people. I've invested in Rachael Yamagata and the Grouper album Listening to new music is keeping my mind nicely occupied!!
bgk
What's everyone else been listening to lately? Any recommendations? Haven't bought any new music in quite a while, but the last great CD I got was Al DiMeola - La Melodia Live In Milano (http://cdbaby.com/cd/aldimeola3). And I've also been listening to McCoy Tyner's Quartet, quite a lot too.
Chem09
Lately I'm mostly listening to N.W.A. and Ice Cube. But I'm also enjoying U2's slightly overlooked 1990's work, and when I want a change-up I listen to Cornershop (now slightly famous in the US for a Nike commercial with Lebron James). abeboparebop
The new Animal Collective, Fleet Foxes, Paper Route Gangstaz, Pete Rock and CL Smooth, and a couple of Pavement EPs (Watery Domestic and Pacific Trim)... I'm like an advertisement for Pitchfork.
miratrix
When sitting around the house, I listen to my old favorites, New Order and the Jesus & Mary Chain, which tend to not annoy my roommates. When I'm on the train, running, or in the house myself, I listen to lots of Scandinavian metal, especially Sonata Arctica and Tyr. They do tend to annoy...other people. Did you hear that "Obtuse Corrosion" split 7" they did with "SinCosSinX?" It was incredible. Limited pressing though (I picked one up at their shows). Also one of the guys in "Squirrelplastic Skydiver" is doing a solo project called "The Element Boron." He played a live show with "Unstratified Luther." They released a live ep on a small Estonian label called "arvustustele v

Victory
Some of you guys have great taste in music. I've been listening to Pavement, No Age, Fleet Foxes, Glasvegas, Matt & Kim (although I'm over the last two already). In addition to my usual rounds of Clash, Bowie, Smiths. psycholinguist
I'm into really obscure indie rock, kind of in and around power-pop for the most part; I get (almost) all of my mp3s from eMusic. Oh, and I also like classical music (mostly Baroque/Classical, but with a few Romantics thrown in there - Faur
