I think I would also apply to MA this weekend. I think there are still schools out there with a very late ddl.

Yes, there are. It's finding the funded ones that's tricky.

Accepted at U Michigan Ann Arbor!  :D

I may have accidentally danced my way across campus when I heard the news. This is my first acceptance, and before I got an acceptance...well, the mind goes to dark places. Like, "I'm not smart or qualified enough to be an academic; I'm a fraud; I should give up this fanciful dream of academia and manage a Chipotle" sorts of places.

Good luck to everyone else who applied!

Congratulations! Michigan is a great program, great school, and outside of academics you can't go wrong with the Big 10.

Well, I just spoke to the DGS of the only program that I applied to, and I am first on the waitlist. Simultaneous relief and terror. There were four offers made. It feels weird to have one's future hinging on the decisions of four strangers.

That's great news! Will be crossing my fingers that you get into a spot.

Hi,

I was just accepted into SUNY Binghamton's Master's in Comp Lit. (applied for Phd).

Does anyone know anything about this program?

Odd to not have heard from UC Davis. Anyone else in this boat and bracing for a rejection?

I emailed Davis for my rejection and got a really nice personal response, but haven’t received the “official” rejection notice either.

Has anyone applied to Rochester??

I did as well.  If history serves, should be seeing acceptances from them soon. Fingers crossed for all--fantastic program.

Also, re: the Chipotle comment, from what I understand, feeling like a fraud never goes away.  I have one acceptance, and i'm waiting for someone to realize they made a mistake and send me on my way.

Accepted at U Oregon! Woo!

Let’s rule out notification theories :) What letter does your last name start with, what’s your emphasis, and when did they contact you? That’s SO exciting!

Semicolon, whattt??? They started. Well shoot!

Don't give up hope yet. I have no idea what their process is. You might still have a shot (and I will almost certainly be declining the offer, so if you get on the waitlist, there's hope!)

Yay to the Oregon/Rochester acceptances. I applied to both, feeling pretty jealous about now.

Part of me knows it is going to be a rejection and that it's just a matter of time, but I still don't want to give up hope I guess (as sad as that is). If I email them and find out then it's over. Better to just not...hear...anything...? Ugh. I still have a lot of schools to hear from, I'm just hoping I don't get a ton of rejections all at the same time. Better to space out the pain.

Last name "F," Victorian /19th Century Novel, called about 40 mins ago. They just had the ad comm meeting yesterday. They said they're looking for a cohort of 8-12 PhDs.
