walter, this has been one of the worst winters in a while for us.  It's always been just enough accumulation, ice, or temperature to have school and work cancelled multiple times for millions of residents!!  Last winter was unusually mild, so it probably made the decision process that much faster!

Well I worked up the nerve to call Stanford. I asked if all decisions had been made, to which they responded "I don't know, let me transfer you." I guess "transferring" means playing a prerecorded message about how admissions info is not given over the phone, just check the FAQs on the web site, etc. Ugh.

I'm waiting on PENN as well.

Penn State had called me about a week and a half ago. They were still formulating their list and just barely sent me the official email of acceptance. This is all speculation, but I'm assuming they are still in the process of finalizing who they are accepting.

I forgot to put a "U" before PENN. But hopefully this information will help others that applied to Penn State.

When do you all think BU will start sending out acceptances?

According to the results list, last year they sent waitlist notices on February 20 and rejections on March 1. There were no acceptances... but in 2012 people were accepted Feb 17 and Feb 20, so maybe they send waitlists and acceptances around the same time.

I agree, Curiouslyoptimistic! hoping to hear from one school this week *fingers crossed*

Avatarmomo, a big congratulations to you!!

Pleased to see that both Brown sociology decisions were acceptances!

What a slow week!  Hoping to hear from Yale soon.

For schools in the tri-state area:  I'd be keeping my eyes on the weather and remember that there are closings and such.     Both my meetings tomorrow are cancelled so I can only assume that the story goes for a lot of activities at schools in the area.  UPenn for, example, is closed.

Yes, key word is "new."  We've had unusually high snowfall accumulations this season ... I think.  There's still snow on the ground and we're getting dumped with about 10 inches tonight through tomorrow.  My boyfriend reminded me that February is the snowiest month of the year (he's a meteorologist), but that doesn't ease the sting for me :'(

That means it'll be a SLOW day tomorrow!!  I'm assuming Lehigh and Maryland will be closed, and Delaware likely will, too. I posted elsewhere that there are no more TV shows that I can think of to binge on, so I will be doing TONS of cleaning to make the day move by more quickly!!

For shows to binge on, I recommend Orange is the New Black :)

Congrats, curiously!! That's so awesome! :D

I did see the first episode of Orange is the New Black! It is very good!  I definitely needed to do the cleaning today though ... I ended up feeling very productive :D

I'm pleasantly surprised to see it's been such a busy day for acceptance/interview/rejection notices!!  I'm pretty sure we got over a foot of snow here (south-central PA)

Is it safe to assume that Berkeley is done with sending out acceptances and others who didn't receive anything at all are already rejected?

Posted (edited)

My Berkeley reject just came by email/web notification, but that was a mere formality since someone in admissions informed me a week ago.

Did anyone else apply to McGill?

I did! Do you know when decisions are expected to come out?

They actually sent e-mails already to check the nimbus portal. Good luck!

Did you apply for the Masters or PhD program? I haven't heard from them yet.

I just got my third wait-list notification (Boston College, Temple-funding, and today, Boston University).  To be blunt, I am fed up with waiting. Last year, I applied for several (more than 15) programs and got 1 wait-list.  Then I waited for 2 months and they sent me a rejection in the end of April.  This year, I have 1 acceptance with funding but still, it sucks that my application was not great enough to be initially accepted.  Probably my GRE Verbal score of 153 made committee members hesitant to take me  :(
