LadyeBird Posted March 4, 2014 Posted March 4, 2014 (edited) Stanford had out 9 potential candidates for their interview weekend (Feb 20-21), including profmastersam and me. I haven't received any news since then. Edited March 4, 2014 by LadyeBird profmastersam 1
roguesenna Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 unofficial rejection from Columbia saying if you haven't heard you're not in. sorry to anyone else who's in the same boat.
roguesenna Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 The department coordinator for English and Comparitive Lit. She said both programs applicants had already been selected.
zshery Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 Thank you, Roguesenna. Good luck hearing back from other programs.
zshery Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 (edited) Thanks man. Someone's gotta do it. Might as well be one of us on here. I hate to be so nit picky, but did she specifically say that all chosen candidates were already notified? Edited March 5, 2014 by zshery
roguesenna Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Tue Mar 4 2014 4:03pm EST Hello Ms. Miller. The Dean's office will give the official response. What I can tell you is that they have already contacted the admitted applicants of both programs. It takes them a while to work their way thru the unsuccessful applicants. Sorry. Regards, Virginia That's what I got.
SilentDreams_SM Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 Does anyone here know if Columbia told any of the Stage Management, MFA or any other MFA people yet any answers? I would email them but my professors for my LORs suggested I stay quiet and not ask.
roguesenna Posted March 6, 2014 Posted March 6, 2014 don't know. the website says MAs/MFAs can take a lot longer than PhDs so I'd say be patient as hard as it is.
LadyeBird Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Just got my rejection email from Stanford. Looks like I'll be reapplying next year, and will definitely apply to a safety school... or two. Good luck to all those still waiting to hear back.
profmastersam Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Me too. But I'll choose out of the remaining choices. Best of Luck.
AProperNoun Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Sorry to hear that, Ladyebird and Profmastersam.
roguesenna Posted March 7, 2014 Posted March 7, 2014 Thank you again, roguesenna. no prob. Honestly, I am not anticipating getting in anywhere either. I'm thinking the most likely is that NYU offers me the MA. Which I'll probably take if I can figure out a way to afford it.
performancestu Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Anyone hear anything further from Northwestern (the Interdisciplinary PhD)? I emailed them almost a week ago, but haven't heard anything back. Considering calling, since they're the only ones I'm waiting on before making a decision, but don't want to pester them too much, and frankly suspect it's a rejection. Would just like to know for certain.
markstay Posted March 9, 2014 Posted March 9, 2014 Wasn't northwestern's interview weekend this weekend. Ask the people who attended. how many people were there? Did anyone go?
performancestu Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 Wasn't northwestern's interview weekend this weekend. Ask the people who attended. how many people were there? Did anyone go? Anyone?
roguesenna Posted March 11, 2014 Posted March 11, 2014 someone on the results search got an interview, but I don't know if they've been active in this thread.
raywawa Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I applied for PhD to UBC and U of Guelph in Canada but I haven't heard from either. Has anyone heard back from these two schools?
eleanor Posted March 12, 2014 Posted March 12, 2014 I was at the Northwestern applicant weekend. There were 7 of us there in person, but I was also told that two people were interviewing via Skype. I spoke with Harvey Young on the phone today and he said folks would be hearing by Monday.
