Does anyone else check their mail like 50 times a day?

And for snail-mail ones, I'm worried they'll go to my house-in Maine, while I'm at school-in Arkansas. Then I'd have to wait for my family to mail them to me (because let's be real-I don't want them to open the letter and know before I do whether I'm in/not in at a school). Anyone else have this issue? I'm mainly concerned because all my schools that have sent any type of mail (notifying me of receipt of documents/completion of applications, etc.) have gone to my house, even though on my applications I posted my mailing address is in Arkansas. *sigh*

I was told by Pittsburgh I'd know by the 14th. That's Friday. I'm going crazy guys!

I understand where you're coming from with the whole not letting your family open the letter. I have at least 2 schools informing via snail mail and the online portal doesn't have any news   GOOD LUCK!!!!

@mheroux92, Oh, yes. I check my mail too many times to count.

I've actually been able to keep my mind off of grad school lately. I'm doing a bit of spring cleaning and it is totally helping my grad school anxiety. I threw away a ton of old notes and school binders. I realized I had no idea why I was saving everything I've ever kept from college. It's not like I want to go back and look through my old chemistry and physics notes. Yuck! lol

I'm actually on a mission trip to Arizona right now so I'm trying to (and most of the time-succeeding) distract myself and not think about it but it's hard!

@mheroux92 I hear you, it's surprisingly hard not to get wrapped up with application stress while you're away!  I just went for a week long vacation and I thought time away would take my mind off of applications, but I still ended up being checking multiple times a day like a crazy person, haha.  But, I wish you luck--try to occupy yourself and when you get back hopefully you'll have good news  :D

Well, today is our last "free" day, starting tomorrow we begin our mission work we're doing. Today was a day to relax and whatnot. My thing is that I was told by University of Pittsburgh I'd hear by March 14th. And I've also seen people post results from Wayne State...so I'm obsessing until I hear anything. It's driving me crazy. April 15th is so close, yet so far away!

Now I have something else to be anxious about...I'm going on vacation to Mexico April 5-12. I REALLY hope I know where I'm going by then and I won't have to worry about being in contact with schools then...

Eeek! That would be terrible! I just think what's the most stressful for me is that I'm a planner. And not knowing where I'm going to be living in 6 months is really tough to deal with.

I only applied to 4 schools and none of them have made decisions yet :( ...This stress is unbearable

Ugh me too. Someone tell us so we can stop worrying!

At my interview on Friday, the school said we'd hear any time this week. I can't stop refreshing my email! My fingers will be crossed all week.

Well, I ended up waitlisted for Pittsburgh. I mean, I love their program but ultimately I want to be in Michigan, so it's okay. It's stressful but I've still got my GVSU interview. And a waitlist isn't a "no" :)

@autismadvocate, thank you! I was accepted yesterday!

I really thought that after I got my first acceptance, the anxiety would go away. But seeing as my family is all really banking on me getting in to the University of New Hampshire, I'm still worried sick. Acceptences were posted on the results search weeks ago and I still haven't heard a thing. In a way, I wish they'd just let me know now if they're going to reject me. It doesn't help that my family wasn't so excited that I got in to Plattsburgh since it's not their top choice for me. ugh.

Sorry for ranting!

I'm sorry to hear that. In an ideal world, family would be supportive no matter where we went. But this is not an ideal world, and I understand moving away is diffcult (the reason I'm assuming your family is banking on New Hampshire). Either way, though, know that I'm REALLY happy for you having gotten accepted!!!! You know you have one school in the bag and take your confidence in that - in the Fall, you are definitely going to be able to go become an SLP! And that's awesome. :

Thank you so much! Your kind words definitely boosted my mood. I am so happy that you are able to go to Florida State next year. It sounds like it's going to be absolutely perfect for you! :)

This week is the week for me. I'm waiting for 1 more school decision (I only applied to 2, and got rejected from the first). Anxiety is on high right now. :/

We're expecting to hear back from UCA this week, which is tied with FHSU on our list. Unfortunately it looks like they've historically sent out answers on the 13th/14th of March, so we've got a few more days.

Interview at Abilene Christian University this afternoon - very nervous, but also excited. It is via Skype :) Congrats to all those accepted, and I understand the nerves of everyone else. It's a long waiting game, but we will all survive!!!!

I got two rejections today :( Fortunately they weren't my top choices, but it's making me that much more nervous for the ones I'm really praying for!

Hope things get better!  You applied to a lot of schools so there is bound to be better news ahead! :)

dalsynic, I LITERALLY think that it is impossible for you to NOT get in to any of 16 schools you applied to, lol. I'm wishing I had applied to more than my 10 now!
