FestivusMiracle Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Am I the only one who occasionally reads journal articles off a laptop while I'm in the bathroom? I mean, the bathroom is a natural thinking zone for males, and has been since the dawn of time (or bathrooms). Is it such a crime to allow one's laptop to accompany his presence on the throne? Full disclosure: My roommate thinks I take my laptop in the bathroom with me to look at porn. Which is ridiculous, because I use my iPhone for that. mockingjay634, sarahsahara, fancyfeast and 2 others 5

maelia8 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I am female and I sometimes take my kindle paperwhite into the bathroom to read books and academic articles while I'm brushing my teeth and flossing, because why not multitask? Not really with you on the toilet reading, though.
spectastic Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 (edited) Natural thinking zone? Wat? The only thing I think about is stream or pellets. Floating or sinking. One fold two fold , cuz don want that finger to break through yo. Sometimes I'm forced to contemplate why it didn't come out normal. And 100% of the time my cat barges in or sticks his hands under the door. Too much going on to be reading Edited April 28, 2014 by spectastic dazedandbemused, DropTheBase, sarahsahara and 5 others 8
rising_star Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 There was an episode of House Hunters (set somewhere in CA) where the guy, a professor, insisted that their new home must have a big bathtub because he does all of his writing in the tub. He said it had cost him a laptop already.
jmu Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 The first floor of the building my office is in has a family restroom. If you put down the baby changing station it makes a great table.
bsharpe269 Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 I often bring my computer in the bathroom to continue reading or analyzing data. Nothing breaks my focus!
Munashi Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Never done it personally. Laptop in the bathroom sounds kind of cumbersome to manage. Taeyers 1
personalityresearcher Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 Bathroom = place for poop. Laptop = something I use while eating. So, no, can't say I've tried it.

ExponentialDecay Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I do all my writing in the tub. Nothing like marinating in your bodily fluids for a couple of hours to get the creative juices flowing.
overworkedta Posted April 30, 2014 Posted April 30, 2014 I have a bit of a HUGE bathroom and sometimes bring my old 17'' laptop in to watch TV on hulu or netflix while I bathe. I always wipe down my counter before, though, because germs, while they are everywhere, don't need to be on my laptop if I can help it and my bathroom can never be too clean. It's a relaxing way to get warm on a cold day without wasting the heat. FTR, I love baths as a way to relax at the end of a long day. I can't wash my hair twice anyhow, but I can clean up twice. I can't wait until I have access to a HUGE bathtub at our new place for this reason. I don't get reading on the toilet, though. To me, it sounds pretty weird. I'm a person that likes to get in and out. I don't like to just sit on the toilet passing the time. To each their own.
