overoverover Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Thanks a lot for the point. I have an external scholarship of ~22k, which seems to be okay... My concern is more about the global reputation of this program out of Canada... The best way to figure that out is to look at placement records.
kant_get_in Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Is anyone else just twiddling their thumbs, having not heard from any of the programs they applied to? Overoverover?
overoverover Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) Is anyone else just twiddling their thumbs, having not heard from any of the programs they applied to? Overoverover? You rang? Basically, yeah. I have 1 implied rejection (Berkeley) and 1 god-knows-what (UCLA), but there's been nothing from 9 others. It's not a terrible situation to be in (it could be worse), but the anxious waiting is getting to me. Edited February 16, 2015 by overoverover cestbon 1
psm1580b Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Is anyone else just twiddling their thumbs, having not heard from any of the programs they applied to? Overoverover? Basically the same. I have one official rejection and two implied, but other than that ... who knows?
Hcarp Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 I remember someone here said that UCLA keeps an internal wait-list. Do you know what's the etiquette in soliciting, and when would be a good time to do that? GWFHegelFTW 1
isostheneia Posted February 16, 2015 Author Posted February 16, 2015 Question for the UCSD admits: did your acceptance come with any information about funding? Yes, it's $20K with TA duties starting first year, maximum six years of TAing, and one year of dissertation fellowship.

What is even more frustrating is that this is the latest both UNC and ND have released for the past three years. I'm trying to look at this as one of those what-doesn't-kill-you-makes-you-stronger moments... but it's killing me. Edited February 16, 2015 by Cecinestpasunphilosophe

Hope you have better luck.

Same here. I would much rather just receive a rejection via email than be told to suspend my disbelief and check the website. a_for_aporia Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 (edited) UNC is also sending out rejections? UNC Philosophy, PhD (F15) Rejected via E-mail on 16 Feb 2015 16 Feb 2015 Email from Joshua Blanchard. Edit_Undo Posted February 16, 2015 Posted February 16, 2015 Is anyone else just twiddling their thumbs, having not heard from any of the programs they applied to? Overoverover? Same here, haven't heard from any of the 10 programs I have applied to (5 PhDs & 5 MAs).
TheNaturalist Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Waitlisted (towards the top, apparently) at Indiana. NathanKellen 1
rednegativity Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Just saw a rejection (but no acceptances) from Miami University Ohio's masters program. How unusual is that? I wouldn't be so anxious about it, except I haven't received word from a single school so far!
reixis Posted February 17, 2015 Posted February 17, 2015 Congrats to everyone who got in UNC! I wish I had applied there, but for a couple of reasons I couldn't. Anyway, I've heard good things about the program, it seems like a great place!
