I don't think so

Interview is part of process.

Hunter does interview.

Brooklyn College has a few waves of interviews and acceptances. I spoke with them yesterday and was told they are still going through applications and giving interview dates.

I'm not sure about Queens.

So Hunter actually said that they do not interview and will send emails of acceptances out by the end of March!!

Today Brooklyn College sent out another wave.

Does anyone know when Brooklyn sends out their acceptances? How many waves of interviews do they do?

Also, Queens said they hope to have their list of acceptances (16 students) by April 1st....Had my interview yesterday.

When does Hunter get back to you? And do they interview?

Hi! Do you mind sharing your interview experience with Queens College? What kind of questions did they ask? Thanks :-)

For people still waiting to hear from Seton Hall I emailed the director of grad admissions and he said, "Hi, happy to help. We are continually making decisions and your application is under review by our admission committee. I expect we will let you know by April 15. I’m sorry I cannot give you a more specific timeline, but it’s still very early into our cycle. Please let me know if I can answer anything else."

I also asked the grad admissions counselor at Kean and he said, "Thank you for your email. The department has begun submitting decisions to me so you will be hearing something in the mail shortly."

I know there's nothing I can do but wait and asking won't make a difference haha but I would just love to hear back from either of these schools! Good luck to all :)

Just heard from NYU, I'm so excited! I'm from out of state, can anyone familiar with the program/who has done a tour tell me your impressions?

I went in for an info session back in October. Its a really nice facility, faculty and current students were very welcoming. I live in NY and was pretty bummed for not getting in but congrats to you.

You can DM me if you have any specific questions about the program or area.

I think you are in the wrong section. There is a section for those trying to get their Masters in Public Health.  This is for people trying to get their Masters in Speech-Language Pathology.

However, I would suggest for your to retake the GRE.  Your score is rather low. Your GPA... is that your final GPA? Most graduate schools will not look at anyone with a overal GPA lower than a 3.0. Try getting your GPA up to a 3.0

For those of you who got into Kean and they require acceptance of your spot my March 18th, what are you going to do if you haven't heard from your other schools yet?  I'm in that boat, and trying to figure out how to handle it.

Depending on the cost of a security deposit, I would just confirm. One spot is better than no spot and you can always reject your spot after that if something better comes along.

I have been accepted into Kean and have sent in my deposit already. I have not heard back from the two other schools in NJ that I applied to (Montclair or William Paterson), but I have taken courses at Kean, as part of their SLP Pre-Professional Program, and have really liked the way the faculty has such pride in their program.

I was accepted into LIU post today and I liked the sound of the program. Does anyone have any insight into that program? Any and all information is helpful (about the area, professors, anything).

I'm a senior applying to grad schools now and my advisor said LIU Posts' program is not very good. She told me that if that's the only school i get accepted to, then to take it but if i have choices, that should be at the bottom of my list. She didn't specify why it's not a strong program. But hey, that's just one professor's opinion so take that for what it's worth. Hope that helps!

Has anyone had an interview for Iona? Any clue what to expect?

I was wondering the same thing. I know that their program is relatively new compared to the others, so I was curious as to what it was like other than being conducted in small groups. My interview is scheduled for 3/19!

Yes, it's a group interview (3 students) and they do ask some questions about speech. It's short, only 20 minutes or so and the professor was very nice. No writing assessment.

Is it specific knowledge, or just general "why do you want to pursue SLP" questions? Any advice on what to brush up on?

they ask what population you want to work with and why. have an answer for how research impacts clinic treatments. know some bullets from the asha code of ethics. i don't know if they ask everyone the same questions but they asked our group to name a code of ethics. good luck!
