Yeah I emailed Dr. Bottoms last semester and she told me she wasn't excepting students.

Yeah she had told me that there was a very slim chance of her taking students but still told me to apply in case she changed her mind. So I applied knowing it was a long shot, but such is life .

Somebody said that they had applied for the personality side of the Social/Personality program at Texas and was invited to a Recruitment weekend on Feb 19. They wouldn't have two different Recruitment weekends for the same program would they? If not then I would expect this next week to be the week that they send out invitations.

Also, is there a difference between an interview weekend and a recruitment weekend as far as people the invite to come?

Yeah, that was me. Recruitment weekend isn't necessarily being accepted (I haven't been yet), but I don't think it's the same as an interview. My POI called and said he was waiting to hear about a grant, but invited me to the weekend in the mean while.

I haven't heard anything either. The only thing i do know is that the person who posted on the results page that they got an interview for the social program at Yale didn't apply to work with her. I thought Yale was supposed to make all of their acceptance decisions by yesterday, but you never know what could come up that would make things take longer.

Well congrats on the invite. I am just thinking that I have a better shot of getting an invite to a recruitment weekend rather than an outright acceptance from Texas. Who is your POI?

Looks like I am getting one more rejection... Texas is pretty much off my list. At least I know the rest of my schools have not began sending out word to anybody.

So I heard rumors that Yale was supposedly sending out all their decisions last week, but there have been like 2 posts on the results page lately, so I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything?

I just called Yale and the assistant to the director of the graduate program confirmed that all of their acceptances have been sent out already.

I would actually like to know this as well. I have called the grad secretaries multiple times just asking if there were any updates coming from the social faculty, but I have not worked up the courage to contact the grad coordinator..

That was actually the main reason I called. I wanted to know if they had set a date for an interview weekend. They do not have an interview weekend. You can just expect a call from your POI.
