Has anyone heard from LSU, one way or another? I find it odd not to have heard anything....unless I'm just the last to know, which I guess is possible. Thanks, and good luck to those still waiting to hear.

Hey there. Which program are you applying to? I got accepted in Comparative Literature PhD.

@EmmaJava may I ask which program you applied to?

Yo, HumanCylinder - any word from CU Boulder? I haven't heard a peep.

I just emailed them since I received an offer that has an approaching deadline, and I got this automated email response:

Phd, MA and CRWR-MFA applications are now in committee for review. You should hear from us via email by no later than March 15th.

No, I haven't heard anything myself, but another person on GC asked the dept. about notifications, and apparently mid-March is their target for notifications. Now, I'm not sure if that would be acceptances or rejections. Don't they only accept 4 people anyway? Perhaps I shouldn't hold my breath.

I think I'll contact the schools I have implied rejections at today (and probably through tomorrow too -- it seems A LOT of my schools are slow at getting around to rejections), and maybe the schools where I have "live" applications later next week if I don't hear anything.

I cross-posted with you, DaniB23.  Hahaha, that's pretty definitive

Congratulations to everyone!

This is my first post on here, I lurked a lot during my applications process and found it to be a very valuable resource. I received my acceptance on 2/22, but I am still very excited to say that I was accepted to SUNY Buffalo's PhD with funding and a dean's fellowship  (interestingly enough, I realize now that their site reports that candidates are only eligible for nomination if they get a certain Qual and an AW score 4.5+. I only got a 4 on my AW -- I blanked so hard, it was awful.)

I was rejected from Ohio State very early on in the game and heard nothing until Buffalo. I'm waiting on Penn State still before I accept Buffalo's offer and I've heard absolutely nothing from them yet... I'm anticipating a rejection.

To 3zs....I applied to the Writing & Culture track. I'm probably so far down the wait list that I'll need a search party to find the top. It happens, I guess. Thanks for letting me know, though, and congratulations!

Yes, I applied for the PhD in English at CU Boulder.  And yes, I believe that HumanCylinder is correct that they only accept 4-ish students each year, so also not holding my breath on that one.  More curious than anything. Thanks to both of you and to DaniB23 for the update as well. March 15 sounds like a long way off when I consider the time line for making a firm decision and a commitment and, you know, planning the next half decade of my life, so these later notifications may well be timing themselves out of the process anyway. A spot opening on the waitlist from UC SB or Virginia? Definitely worth waiting for. Just about anything else?  It gets harder to justify.

I feel the exact same way regarding CU Boulder and how knowing you're on the top of a waitlist seems more worth it than waiting to be notified of possible rejection so late in the process.  With CU Boulder, I'm pretty much also just curious at this point.  The viability of me being able to afford to live anywhere near Boulder while also living the way I want/need to (I have 2 dogs, a cat, and a partner, so we really require the extra space of a small house with backyard, etc.) seems unlikely.

I've gotten some replies to the email inquiries I made this morning to programs where I have implied rejections, each falling somewhere within the broad spectrum between definitive and cryptic.

I'm with the rest of you in that these late notifications are making me anxious about the looming decision deadline.  I have a couple left that would be pretty big game changers if I were to be accepted.  Also, I would really like to visit the programs I'm accepted to.  I've already thought about ways to rearrange my schedule to visit TAMU, but I don't want to announce any changes to my students about our class schedule until I know if I will have to do more rearranging.  I also need to ask for time off from my second job, but want to know all of the dates before doing so.

Congratulations on your acceptance and funding!!

I'm also waiting on Penn State (I've heard back from everyone else already) and haven't heard a peep either. I know that they've trickled acceptances all the way through April in the past (and of course accepted their fellowship nominees much sooner), so unfortunately I think it's just a waiting game until we hear anything directly.

It just sucks because on the off chance that I get accepted to Penn State, I don't know if I'd be able to visit the campus and the department since I'm already missing so much class for other visits. Plus I really hate traveling, so I don't even know if I can handle more than the two visits I have planned lol

I totally feel you on wanting to know for sure before you make arrangements! It's better to just do all of it at once, but that's hard when you're still in limbo on certain schools.

Also, how is everyone going to keep up with work (either as a student or instructor) while away on open house visits?? I'm getting overwhelmed right now because I'll be missing the equivalent of a week and have to make it all up before I go/while I'm there. I'm trying to do as much as I can beforehand, but it's so hard to cram one weeks worth of work into a few days... And, my schools' itineraries have my days booked solid, and then there's traveling time, and then there's "omg I need to sleep" time, so I don't know how much I'll be able to get done while away.

Sorry, that last post was weird, I couldn't exit the box that had the text I was quoting, so I just hit submit to clear it out. Anyway, just wanted to say kia ora to the Kiwi, and congratulations and welcome to 'Murica. I spent some good time down in Dunedin and have been to Auckland as recently as May. Good luck with the international education experience, that's a really cool undertaking.

Thank you so much! I did my undergrad in Dunedin but I'm actually from Auckland. Good luck with everything too!

Ah, congratulations, and haere mai! Great to see another kiwi on the board.

(I'm technically second generation -- my father is from Palmerston North -- but am a New Zealand citizen regardless, so I'm claiming "kiwi" status!)

Got into University of Oregon with funding/tuition remission. The letter didn't specify the stipend amount though. So I'm waiting to hear more. But I'm excited!

Congrats! I was accepted yesterday as well. Will you be going to the open house?

Thank you and Congrats! I would love to, but I really can't justify spending the money right now. Will you be attending?

I emailed the grad coordinator and there's a $500 travel reimbursement, if that helps you! It will definitely help me.

Oh my Gosh!!! I had no idea. I was too scared to ask if there was possibly funding!!! I'm going to email her about it.

I'm finishing up my undergrad in engineering and applied to four schools for an MA in English - got into Penn State and UBC so far, still waiting on Georgetown and Villanova. UBC gave me a 15k/10k package (w/o a tuition waiver) and teaching opportunities in the 2nd year while Penn State is giving me a more generous TAship, so it's going to be hard to choose uvu I'm holding out for Georgetown though, because I'd love to study with Duncan Wu.

Has anyone heard anything from the University of Florida? They notified accepted students by phone on March 4 last year.

I emailed yesterday to see when they would send out notifications since I got an offer with a looming deadline but to no avail.  Radio silence.

So, is Oregon done notifying acceptances?

I feel like they are, but they emailed me saying they're sending decisions by the end of the week.

Ha, my advisor recommended I do the exact same thing today. I probably still will tomorrow but at least I won't be alone in not hearing anything.

So, I got an e-mail from the DGS of University of Florida saying I've been admitted!!!! No mention of funding, but we'll be talking on the phone tomorrow afternoon, so that should be clarified soon. The website says the department offers TAships renewable for up to four years.

Awesome and congrats! I wonder how many PhDs applicants they are admitting this cohort, as I have applied in the Victorian track. Again, congrats! I would love to attend UF.
