@schizometric I'm excited for you and your interview offers, but was it really necessary to post this exact thing in three different threads in the same forum?

New to this format. Wasn't sure I was actually posting in the right place and whether people actually split by specialization. Not trying to be a smartass, just a newbie.

Got it. I would guess that most people read multiple relevant threads in the same forum, so you're hitting the same people by cross posting like that. Just a suggestion. Welcome!

Hey guys! Today I received an offer to come for an interview from Southern Mississippi's counseling psychology program. I am super excited since I get to meet with my desired faculty member but is it strange that I'm already hearing back after I just submitted my application last week? How long do you guys think I should wait to reply so I don't seem too desperate? I wasn't expecting to hear back from any of the schools until January so I'm still a little in shock.

I figured we could use this thread to hear where everyone is getting in and for any questions we may have about the interview process!

Congratulations! I'm currently finishing the masters program at Southern Miss. I don't really have any insight as to when to respond. I'm generally horrible with stuff like that. I can tell you that the Ph.D. program is very solid. Good luck on your interview!

Anyone heard from Boston College or UMass Boston? I know the deadline was literally 16 days ago but I'm already freaking out.

Don't know about Boston College, but from what I've seen from previous years UMass Boston's invites usually go out at the end of January.

@bynOooh I didn't know that they had a feature to look for last year's as well! I looked earlier to see if anyone had mentioned those schools but I figured I'd post in here just to see if anyone had heard but that page had not yet been updated. Thanks for the tip!

@schizometric Thanks a bunch! Even though it's my undergrad institution they didn't send my rejection letter until APRIL of last year so I wasn't sure when interview invites went out since the profs I work with are in the clinical program. >___<;;

Thank you so much! I accepted the interview offer on Monday so I'll be there Feb 3rd to interview! I am soooo excited (and nervous) since it's one of my top programs! Thank you for telling me a bit about the program! :D

Thank you! I am pretty excited but still in shock, being my first time applying I honestly had low expectations on getting invitations. Who have you heard from so far?? And congrats on THREE interviews, that is amazing! :)

I've heard from Illinois State University, University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, & University of Nebraska-Lincoln (all Ph.D. school psychology programs). I'm extremely nervous buy I plan to prep a ton this next month :)

Yay! I applied to Nebraska-Lincoln too but clinical. I believe my friend from undergrad is in the school program there and I know she LOVES it! She told me nothing but great things about the school when we chatted about it. Good luck! :)

Could some one help- has anyone applied to East Tennessee state? Their app is due tomorrow- there surprisingly are still Jan. Deadlines. They give detailed descriptions of personal statement but nowhere to upload it! I've seen some schools ask you to email them, but that's not mentioned either. I've gone through the whole application. I'm freaking out. There's no upload for CV either. No upload for anything. Suggestions?

If you're desperate you could try emailing a current student in the program, and asking if they remember what they did when they were going through the application process. They'll likely respond even though it's the weekend.

It is possible that you will get an email after you submit the application prompting you to submit your statement and CV on a separate webpage. But I agree with the previous poster- I would try emailing someone. But, ether way, don't worry too much. It's not your fault as long as you've read the instructions carefully. I would submit the application and then email my materials to the office, stating that I couldn't find a way to upload my statement and CV.

One of my programs had me submit the application first, then sent me a link to upload additional materials. If you can get your application submitted soon I would do so and see what email prompt you get. Then, if you're not prompted to submit anywhere, email someone, or send attachments to the adcomm.
