I got accepted into my first choice YAY!!!!  I'm happy.  I went right on and pressed the "accept admission" button.  Woot!  Very happy.
 
They are not a super competitive program, but decent  They said they received triple the number of applicants -- so that makes me feel even more special that they chose me.  Woot!

So happy for you Goobah!! (I tried to up-vote but apparently I've reached my daily quota of positive clicks!).  Congratulations, my fellow social worker!
 

I wanted to share the news with you guys because you have been so tolerate and supportive. I was accepted into my last school today, which means I officially went 5/5! Grad school sweep!!

Sunday morning I dreamed that I was accepted via email back to my alma matter for an MA in history-was super disappointed when none of the 7 emails I had were about that
 
but I just got my email accepting me to the program with funding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You must not be too bad at interviewing, if they want to talk to you again!  Let's think... colossal success.  There, I fixed it for you.

Thanks. Yeah... I'm shy and really suck at interviews, so this could be a colossal disaster. Needless to say, there will be copious alcohol consumption after the fact, either way.

I wish I would have thought of phd school soon enough to get my 1 application in on time. Sigh.

kinda like lmac.... i got word from the last school i applied to and i got in. waiting on funding information which seems like a big challenge. but note: i got rejected from the first 7 schools that i applied to. 
 
i recently talked to a co-worker who told me that his wife applied to phd programs for 3 rounds until she got in. if you want it keep going for it. it only takes one.

I got a short but sweet acceptance email!  They sent it around 10 pm last night.  My only application - happy dance!!

Accepted my offer of admission to UW today 

I'm really getting tired of the wait. My omen is that I did not get a honors scholarship I applied to (outside of grad schools). On a good note, I've come up with a really good plan B. My fave program apparently has a military outreach program that offers the MSW online, BUT once you are in you have to attend ON campus second year. Also, they assist with practicum placements -- and since I'll be living in the same metro area the school is in, I'll have all the same practicum placements as the other first years. I really should be happy about plan B, but with the no on the scholarship I'm feeling particularly mediocre.

Congrats RubyBright and psychdork!!! I'm so happy some people on the thread are starting to move forward! Yay yay! My friend found out today that she was wait listed she is happy that she hasnt been rejected, but is sad that now it's just more waiting... I'm still waiting on my favorite

Apparently it was a good sign, I got an acceptance letter from this school yesterday!

All right, guys - it was a good sign after all! I just got an email from the school accepting me!

Woohoo got into UCLA! Now its decision time!

Mid-March is only two days away! Remember the adage: Beware the Ides of March.  
 

I got an email from one of my schools. It was an email inviting me to apply.   I'm not even sure what kind of "sign" to take that as! Love when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing....

well at least I can have my mind back-got my final rejection this morning so there's no more wondering anymore.

Jmarti, if it makes you feel any better, some of the best Grad school success stories I've heard are from ppl that were rejected the first time around. In fact my friend keeps telling me to just buck up and apply to the same school again the next year, because that's how she got in. Sometimes this stuff is such a crapshoot... Ugh.

Despite my lack of hope, I was accepted to Syracuse with a TA fellowship this morning!!!!!!!!!!!
 
Maybe this is a good omen for the 2 applications I'm still waiting to hear from!!!!  Good news comes in threes right???

You guys ready for a new week of hallucinations?!?! Woooo hooo! My fave choice is on spring break this week, so I've decided to give myself a week off from angsting. I figure there will no be no way they will send out the decisions during their spring break. Need to do research work this week anyway! Ugh.

I will be starting my MSW in the fall and was just curious about the essays you have to write. In undergrad, essays can typically range anywhere from 5-10 pages in length (with the odd 12 pager).  Are essays usually this long or longer in grad school? Also, in undergrad, you usually have to complete 2 essays per course--do you have to write more than this in grad?
I'm just trying to wrap my head around the idea of doing 3 days of practicum AND 4 courses... it isn't the readings I'm afraid of, it is the essays!
