I know the one thing that was kind of weird was that ASHA used to have categorical requirements for clinic- each student had to have a certain amount hours in each specific environment (educational, medical, etc). They then switched to a general number of hours without these hours, but NC kept the categorical requirements. When she moved back, she had to go through a lot of paperwork in order to get everything switched for our state. I'm sorry if that seems confusing, it was confusing when she explained it to me to begin with
I know she felt the department was very close and well-kept. She felt like because it was small, she got a really personal and in-depth education. She did not tell me of anything negative regarding classes or clinical placements.
