Do you have any extra curricular activities? Volunteering?
-
My apologies. If you can get your pre-requisite GPA to at least 3.5, you will be better shape. I was told many schools look for 3.5 and higher. I would kill for your quantitative GRE score!

Anyone else still waiting on first acceptance?

@MrsH Yes, you're right. I'm taking a physics class to satisfy ASHA requirement. Hopefully, not in vain. -
You are still completing classes. What are your stats? Don't give up if it is what you want. I know how you feel.

Sadly, you're mom is mistaken that getting a teacher's Master's will help. Perhaps the master's with experience... How many years have you been trying?

@MrsHIf you can, aim for hospital. Many will offer some kind of tuition assistance. How many more prerequisites do you have left? -
Perhaps, I know of so many of my peers who are black with stellar GPAs. They too are having issues gaining admission.

I truly would love to know why don't the grad programs represent the diversity seen on the undergraduate level. I realize they are other variables such as people giving up on the field after receiving their BA/BS degree. However, it is still grossly disproportionate.

@MrsHThanks, My niece is a chatterbox now. You would never have known she was speech delayed. Right now, I work as an administrative assistant for a hospital. How about yourself? I hope you get into somewhere this year also, so you do not have to go through this painstaking process again! -
Not at all, As a black woman, I have the same feelings. We are far and few in this field.

What schools are you waiting to hear from?

All the ones in my signature. -

Yes, Dempster Hall also when I attended. I did PR across the board. Everything from representing a doctor to having clients such as Bryant Park and the formally known Astroland. My MS is in Communication Studies. Yes, I agree. I never learned about SLP in high school. I wasn't exposed to it until my niece needed one. -

Very long time ago, 2003 Oppenheim was just a advisor when I was there. Also, it was just known as the school of communication. It was not officially Herbert SOC. -

@MrsHMe too! I graduated from Hofstra concentrating in PR. I hated t! Did my second BA in SLP at Lehman College. I have a MS degree from the College of New Rochelle. I have only applied to schools in my signature. -

To not even get an interview for schools you know have started the process is very discouraging. As I have stated, no news is not always good news. -
No Interviews or Acceptances 2016 VENT HERE!

I know people in the field. Not much if any math is used. -

I agree 100%! I already have a M. S. degree no GRE needed. I completed it with a 3.75. My GRE scores mean nothing. -

I don't why so much emphasis is placed on the math GRE score. -

I wish I could understand the method to the madness. I know someone with a lower GPA that was already rejected from one of the schools I applied. Meanwhile, I have heard nothing. No news is not always good news. It often means a delayed denial, especially in this field of study.
