Hi,
I'm curious, is it possible to survive as a PhD student in university having almost no savings and working 20 hours per week at campus? Anywhere? My monthly rent will be 400$ with everything included. I will not pay for my studies, because I have a financial aid, but NO STIPEND. I'm ready to work anywhere, I don't care about conditions. I just want to know, how much students are usually paid on campus? I can't find any info about it.
Most of admitted students to the top schools have 3.9-4.0 GPA. I don't want to dissapoint you. It's just a pure fact. I guess 4.0 GPA is something like a permit for student for being treated like a competitive one. I would definitely apply to a couple of middle programms just in case. Apply to as many as possible programms. From top to middle.
Just wanted to say, I got financial aid! LSU gave it me in July, so I'm making visa right now and coming to the U.S.! Meet a new future PhD in Politics) Big thanks for everybody who replied me and especially the guy named IR IR IR PhD! He came up with an idea to rewrite and resend my SoP. I did it and this worked. I owe you a drink, dude)
claim LSU acceptance.
They said, no assistanship is available for me, but they nominated me to Graduate School
Tuition Award. It covers all the tuition fees, but I do not know whether it provides monthy stipend or not. How do you think?
I won't be admitted anywhere. My SOP was totally stupid and childish. My chosen topic was pathetic. I understand it now. What I was hoping for? Why did I spend too much time and money for nothing? I'm idiot. Does anybody have the same feeling? How to bear with it?
