@ShamonI received informal acceptances via phone or email, but those would be followed up by a more formal letter via email or via the application website. Hopefully, you won't have to wait for snail mail! Two of the programs I got accepted to told me specific funding amounts and info up front. Still waiting on funding info for one of the programs I got accepted to, but they said I'd learn of funding via email.

Hahaha I still think that would be amazing! I'd find glitter in the carpet or in the corner of a bookshelf years later and just smile at the memory of an acceptance!

Something really cute: I got my official acceptance letter to Delaware via website today (phone notification came Thursday), and when I clicked the link to the letter, the letter displayed on the screen as virtual confetti poured down as well! It was so cute! I'm always saying *throws confetti* in this and other threads, and I got some confetti from Delaware! So cute! The confetti was in the school colors, too!

Omg your sassy-ness towards Slenderman later is hilarious XD I had a dream where these demons were chasing me and fire was falling from the sky, and I suddenly became lucid, stopped in my tracks, turned to the demons, sassily wagged my finger at them, and said "Woah, are you serious? Balls of fire from the sky? Um, I'm pretty sure that's not even meteorologically possible. I'm going to wake up and talk to my husband about this (since he's a meteorologist), and I'll be back to deal with you fools later. Peace." and I woke myself up from the dream XD I'm way sassier in dreams than in real life! Hahaha I hope the folks on the adcomm aren't that evil!! They've all been super nice so far, and I don't get any slendy vibes from them!

Hey, NC State admits... I *won't* be at the recruitment visit... It is on the same weekend as ESS in Boston, and I'm presenting at the conference, so I have to be there! The recruitment visit sounded like soooo much fun, but I'll be going down to visit campus perhaps the next weekend. The admissions chair was flexible and understanding about my situation! Very thankful for that.

I just woke up from a bad dream via alarm. I was semi-lucid in the dream, so when my husband and I ran into someone scary in the dream, I tried turning us invisible... And it backfired. The scary person made it so that turning invisible would make us feel like we were dying, so I'm just lying there in pain, calling out to my husband... Then my alarm went off. Smack dab in the middle of rem sleep. I woke up EXHAUSTED. Curse scary nights and sleep disruptions!!

And offer virtual baked goods, of course *motions to the table of fresh brownies, cookies, and fancy fruit tarts* It means so much that you get psyched for my acceptances! I feel the same way about you! I feel like my old encouraging psych professor from undergrad who would say "no surprise there!" when I would do well on an exam. When I see you get an acceptance, I'm like "I'm so happy for kat, but no surprise kat got accepted!!" :-)

High five, NC State buddy! I misspelled the admissions chair's name in my response though. I was too excited. I can't believe I misspelled his name. I apologized in another email but I'm so embarrassed. My prof who went to NC State said "haha. it's ok. that's funny." when I told her though, so hopefully the chair thinks it's a funny typo, too O_O;; The recruitment visit falls over a conference I'm presenting at, so I asked the chair if he thought it was a good idea for me to just leave the conference early or schedule another visit to NC State. If I do leave the conference early, I'll see you there, reify <3

Just now, I was pouring my coffee when I heard a *ding* email notification. I nearly dropped the pot of coffee and I said "gingin67899, calm down, it's probably just a reply from your husband ..." Nope, it was an acceptance! YAY. I just kinda ran out in the hallway, spun around in a circle, and told whichever professors I saw XD

ACCEPTED TO NC STATE

Could be because my name is Ginger =p (Ginger is a nickname though. Fun fact: no one really started referring to redheads as ginger here in the US until a certain episode of South Park came out. So, no one has really been confused by name and hair color until about 10 years ago.) The whole hair color thing recently confused my husband's neighbors from the UK. I introduced myself, and the woman in the couple pointed to my hair with a confused expression on her face. I said, "Yes, I know, I'm a walking identity crisis ... " I'm Ginger in name only =p

Oh my goodness, I have a paper folder that I call my happy folder, too! I've kept every piece of good news in that folder... It really is a good way of bottling the feeling!
