  1. Hi! I'm a CDIS grad student. The secretary informed me that they won't be sending out letters until October.
  2. Hello everyone! If you are planning on applying to ENMU for their CDIS graduate program, you may or may not already be aware that you will have to be on-campus for your first semester. With that being said, if you are looking for on-campus housing for the Spring 2017 semester, I am looking for someone to take over my lease for the Spring 2017 semester. I am staying at San Juan Villages, an apartment community right across the street from the speech clinic! Super convenient and close by- and rent is only $480 a month including utilities, gas, electric, EVERYTHING! If you are interested, or would like more information, feel free to send me a message.
  3. We have to notify the school of our acceptance by November 15. Classes begin January 18. I wanted to see if the school would be a good fit for me before I decide on anything. Usually schools give you more time to make a decision but with this being a spring admission perhaps it's different. Thank you!!
  4. I just received my letter for provisional acceptance into their program. However, I'm a resident in Orange County, CA and I want to know if it's worth it to stay on-campus there or if I should do the one semester on-campus and the rest online. Also, what is the area of Portales like? Is it a small college town, the weather, etc. I wanted to see about visiting it but I don't know if I'll have time between now and November 15! Also, any pros/cons you have to say about the program itself. Any advice you have for me would be INCREDIBLY helpful Thanks!
  5. I got my letter today and I was provisionally accepted into the program (meaning I would have to take a couple pre-req classes and 9 units of graduate level coursework as a condition of my admission). The only pre-requisite classes I'm missing are "language science" and "speech and language assessment" and this is all according to my application I filled out originally (so I could be incorrect). Anyways, I would love to speak with anyone who is in the program currently! I have to notify by November 15- which is CRAZY to me! Lots to figure out in such a short amount of time. My fingers are crossed for anyone else who hasn't received word yet!!
  6. I was a Resident Advisor while I was in undergrad (majoring in Communicative Disorders). It took up a lot of my time and I must say it took a toll on my grades. I think it depends on the school you are at- every school has its own demands and responsibilities for RAs. Frequently, I had to respond to calls in the middle of the night to unlock doors for residents who locked themselves out. I couldn't imagine doing that and then going to a graduate seminar that same morning. Like I said, depends on the school and what their expectations are and if the students party a lot. But from my experience, I don't think it would work very well while being in an intense SLP graduate program.
