Well you don't need to ask us if you want to do so
But the only thing I will say is that they will say "We are still reviewing" because there will be VERY FEW people who pick other schools rather than MIT as their first choice.
So of course they will be sending more acceptances but at the VERY VERY SMALL rate.
In fact, I think it might not be right to address advisors name for just 'course projects'

I don't see any problem with you.
Unless you have some accomplishments together with your advisor you don't 'need' to put his/her name on it.
Maybe the prof. had some history about these issues (like one of his students used his idea and not mention his/her name)
Well in that case I don't think that you have a bad profile.
Not quite sure that you are enough for the top world class schools
But enough to get in a decent school.

Maybe they came to a conclusion that interviews don't give that much benefit.
I do think that interviews indicate a higher possibility of admission because at least it means they are interested in your application.
But as it looks so it doesn't seems as a free pass
