  1. I was offered a spot at Johns Hopkins and accepted last week! I am overjoyed! Now I just need to figure out how to move across the country....
  2. Gah this kills me. I'm accepted to Western Washington's masters program and do a lot of outdoor activities (camping, backpacking) which would be AMAZING in Bellingham. But I'm also accepted to William and Mary and think it's probably a better masters program. I'd hate giving up that outdoorsy culture. :/
  3. It's been more than a month since I interviewed with Johns Hopkins....Has anyone heard from them?
  4. Same about loving to hear what other people think of Western Washington and William and Mary. I have funding for both and I think pretty good research opportunities at each. Which is great, but makes it hard to weigh them against each other and make a decision. Here's some quick stats. If anyone wants more detail, pm me. GRE: 162 V, 155 Q, 4.0 AW GPA: 3.8 Research experience: 3+ years, completed an undergrad thesis
  5. I got the email on February 19th from NYU. I also thought it was strangely early for an MA program. If you have those numbers, I am weirdly curious and would be interested in having them. I'm still waiting to hear from the one PhD program where I had a campus interview. In the meantime, I'm making a spreadsheet comparing the MA programs (because spreadsheets solve everything!). Mostly I'm just feeling relieved to have choices. If anyone has helpful info about Western Washington's or William and Mary's experimental psych masters programs in particular, I'd be interested in hearing! (Or general advice about comparing masters programs.)
  6. @lovemc and @FeelTheBern - Yup on the PhD rejection, MA acceptance. I'm interested in the percentage that are accepted, too, or at least the logic behind accepting all the PhD rejects to the MA program. (I suspect $$$?)
  7. I just got an acceptance from Western Washington Experimental MA. I was told that official one from the department should be coming soon.
  8. Whine: The racket of sending transcripts and the extortion money I've had to fork over for my own transcripts. Okay, I guess it's really not THAT bad or the end of the world, but I HATE paying $10 more to regain access to the PDF (!!) of my own transcript. Whine done....I feel better already!
  9. I applied to their integrative neuroscience but have not heard from them. I emailed their graduate coordinator a few days ago and she said the quickest way to find out if interviews have been sent out is to directly contact professors. I haven't done this yet, kind of putting it off. Has anyone heard from University of Oregon cognitive neuroscience?
  10. In case anyone else was interested, I emailed University of Oregon and University of Washington graduate coordinators about interview invites. University of Washington behavioral neuroscience is done extending invites for this round of interviews and University of Oregon cognitive neuroscience is sending them out by the end of this week. Also learned that when Brandeis says you can't submit more than one grad application per academic year, they meant AT ALL, not just within one department (learned after I had submitted and paid the app fee for the Neuroscience MS...my bad for not understanding the instructions...)
  11. So glad I'm not the only one. When I find myself obsessing and checking my email/app status page I'll go to the gym. I've been going to the gym a lot.
  12. I was about to lose my mind when I saw an email from University of Chicago graduate admissions. It's a newsletter...an evil, misleading newsletter....
  13. School Name: Johns HopkinsDate Interview Invite Received: 1/4/2016, 1/13/2016Degree: PhDTrack: BiopsychologyNotified via: Phone Call, follow-up emailFrom: POI, follow-up email from departmentInterview Date: Weekend of 2/11 or 2/18
  14. At the risk of sounding hopelessly desperate... does anyone want to claim that University of Washington Behavioral Neuroscience interview? And if so, who's the POI?
