  1. I'm an international student who's gotten admits from the University of Southern California to the MS CS (spl. in DS) program, and from the University of Utah MSCS program. I'm inclined towards USC because of it's higher ranking and location, but I'm worried about the expense and large class sizes. Utah has smaller class sizes, cheaper fees and possibility of getting a TA position. Since my parents are prepared to fully fund my education, money is not that big of an issue, however saving a few thousand dollars would be nice. Is it worth giving up USC for Utah?
  2. I'm planning to apply to GA Tech for MS in Computer Science (Yes I know the deadline is soon). I'm not too confident about my GRE scores, and I feel that my profile is average. What are my chances of getting into GA Tech? Keep in mind I was already rejected from UPenn. Here's my profile - GRE = 161Q, 79%ile, 165V, 95%ile TOEFL > 110 GPA: Good, 8.83/10, final year, decent private engineering college in India Publications: 1 (under review) Work exp: None (still in college) Internship: 1 at startup, decent project. SOP, LORs = Good enough i guess, no idea how to evaluate these to be honest. What do you guys think? Should I apply?
  3. One of my friends got an acceptance letter from UPenn in the early application cycle for the Chemical program. Has anyone from CS gotten a decision yet? They said decisions would be sent by mid December right?
  4. How good is the CG program at Wisconsin University? What sort of research do they do over there? How are the professors?
  5. So the University of Utah has two options for MS: MS in Computing MS in Computer Science Source: http://www.cs.utah.edu/graduate/deg-program/ Now, as I understand it, the MS in Computing is for a specific track, while the MS in CS is a more general degree. However, you can choose your emphasis areas in CS as well, so my question is which program would be better for me? I want to do a specialisation in Data Science and Machine Learning.
  6. I've heard that San Jose University requires seven semesters worth of transcripts to be evaluated by WES. I'm in my seventh semester and I won't get my transcripts until mid December. Is it possible to apply with just six semesters worth of transcripts? Do all universities requiring WES need seven transcripts?
  7. But as a qualifying criteria, is it enough to get into top universities? Like say, Stanford or CMU? I just want to make sure they don't reject my application just because of my GRE score.
  8. So I took the GRE this month and I was kinda disappointed by my Quant score. I'm wondering if I should give it again. I'm applying for a masters in Computer Science or a related field. By the looks of it most applicants to this field have a 165+ Quant score. What do you guys think?
