Yes, she told me they take applications until May. I had read a lot of bad things about the program in threads, but they were really old information. I talked to about 7 students and they all were recently at UDC , last 2 years and they all loved it. They all had jobs and they have a 100% praxis rate pass. I think they revamped the entire program.

I reached out to a BUNCH of their students, all from their last year class and they actually all had pretty good things to say about the program. They also revamped their program from 2010-2015 and implemented a whole bunch of changes. The students all seemed happy, the only negative thing they had to say was that the other part of the university, aside from the SLP department was disorganized , they were all happy with their work experience and felt very prepared compared to their peers. I also interviewed with UDC this week and they are a very small program 10-13 students. Hope this helps!

Waiting to hear back from UDC, Howard and UMD

I just heard back from GWU that I was waitlisted. I am refreshing my email all the time. I heard a lot of schools go to spring break next week so hoping that by friday I have some news!

I lived in oak lawn its not scary, actually bishop arts district is booming right now! Its a great little area. Oaklawn is the gayberhood, and "the strip" is the strip of gay bars that is off of cedar springs. Its awesome. The neighborhood is safe, as long as you don't venture too far off, Its a 5 min walk to katy trail which is the best running area, its beautiful. Close to kylde warren park, its close to uptown if you want to go out. You can pretty much uber anywhere form 75219 area. Even north park is about 15 minutes by car from here. Its 5 min to callier center and dallas is safe, you should be smart. Obviously in any city you can't go running at 3 am. I think that just is the fact of being a woman, but as far as walking your dog and just crime in general, no its safe. You might find a boa of feathers outside on day, that has happened, the gays are awesome! Uptown can be a bit loud, there a bunch of bars and all the SMU kids come to party and it gets out of control. you can't even get out of there sometimes its sooo packed. Its nice to be far away enough to drive but close where its like 5 min.

The gayberhood is the 75219. Its the best place I've ever lived. Just stay off the strip late at night it gets dicey but I mean its all gay bars....lol its a party. I loved it! Oh and its a 5 min drive to Callier

Yes I lived in Dallas for a long time. Send me the places you're looking at, honestly, I would avoid uptown unless you're into that scene, it can get really loud! The gayberhood is awesome! There are some cute places around there that just opened up and its soo close, it would take me 5 minutes when I was going there. 75129 area code. Its safe as long as you stay off the strip on the weekend nights, but I loved it. It was close to katy trail, I would walk there and there is a bunch of restaurants there

Got waitlisted at GWU still waiting to hear back from UMD, and Howard. I went to their open house, did you attend one? For both GWU and UMD. Depends in what you're searching for, GWU is beautiful.

I attended their open house and they said they give out financial aid and assistantships closer to when school starts and after they know who is in class. So you wont know until April 16 and later.

Does anyone have any feedback or know someone who attended UDC? There isn't much information on this school. Any information would help. All the bad reviews are from 2 years ago so I wondering if they did anything different? I know they just got re accredited until 2020.

I did some research with Dr. Evans at UT Dallas and I can say that they are amazing along with the Callier Center! Congrats everyone!
