  1. Look into GWU post bacc program, its awesome you get those courses that you have to have and you get merged into their first year class. I think looking at programs like this and doing some observation hours, and getting the experience through volunteering and getting good LOR can make you a competitive applicant. Good luck!
  2. What two schools are you waiting from?
  3. Can anyone confirm of deny that they also have not heard back from Howard, I am assuming at this point that I am on some unofficial waitlist.
  4. Friday makes it four for me
  5. I saw a few people post on the results page they had got off the waitlist.
  6. Dallasite, inbox me if you have any questions or need recommendations!!! :-) I am so happy some of you have chosen my home city!!! I miss it dearly, counting the days to go back home :-)
  7. Almost 4 now. Anyone heard anything?
  8. And the wait continues , anyone heard anything??? Am I on some unofficial waitlist? Did anyone receive any waitlist letters??
  9. I've seen a few people already decline offers to the school, they have the last open house on Friday which I will be attending.
  10. yup mine either, no letter or anything.
  11. My husband lived in Arizona so we went for his graduation and did a week hiking thing and the heat was very very dry. I lived in Dallas and I loved it, even on hot days, you just needed some Mexican fresh fruit juices and some shorts and sunglasses and you could survive. I love Dallas so I am very biased, the weather again is hectic though, but out winters aren't bad.
  12. I don't know, it seems like a lot of people are on the waitlist. Also did you submit anything additional? Did you attend any open houses? I got waitlisted there and a bunch of my post bacc class did as well. I don't know if they just waitlist everyone instead of rejecting them.
  13. What does your portal say? Does it ever update? Mine still says under review.
  14. NO I HAVENT EVEN HEARD BACK FROM THEM. Howard seems really all over the place, its annoying.
  15. No lol Arizona is that dry heat that makes your allegies go away but leaves your skin like quenched for thirst. It like almost burns, our is a bit dry but not that dry. Its still pretty hot though, at least its not that bama humid heat. That killed me....I would go outside and just start sweating and my hair.... you don't even want to know. frizz vile.
  16. As far as North Texas, Its bright, its sunny and ITS HOT. I mean it gets really realllllyyyy hot. Our winters are a hit or miss, this winter it was 60-70 the entire time. I am now in Baltimore and I understand how you feel, its too urban here and cloudy and gloomy and dreadful. I feel depressed a lot when I look out at the fog and just the ugly city , thats just me. I also lived in Alabama and its was sooo green and beautiful. I was so happy there, although my allergies did kill me. My first instinct also is to say california, I mean who doesn't dream about 70 degrees and sun all the time Texas probably second because we do have crazy weather at times, and tornado warnings from time to time. Its not always but we known for shorts one day and winter coat the next. Hope that helps!
  17. That sounds like an amazing reason why and an amazing program. I love how intimate and cozy it sounds. I went to some open houses and it definitely changed my mind, I think visiting the schools is so important. You get the real vibe! I am so happy for you! Being close to your family and finance are a deal in itself. Some people who were McNair scholars had their costs all reduced, I paid about 500 in application fees and I felt i! I can't imagine applying to 10+ schools. I love hearing about the positives of programs! Thats why I posed the questions, its awesome to learn from peoples perspectives.
  18. Hey y'all! As the national date approaches it seems like a lot of people finally decided where they wanted to go! 1. Why did you choose the program you're going to? What really sold it for you? 2. How many schools did you apply to 3. If you haven't decided, what is going to be the factor that pushes you to decide? So exciting to see where everyone is ending up. I still have yet to hear back from 2 schools and have been waitlisted, I only applied to schools in DC area because my husband matched to residency there so I wasn't able to move anywhere, otherwise I would have applied all over the place! My number one choice is UMD. Hoping to get off the waitlist there but at this point with how competitive it seems to be ill take an acceptance anywhere!
  19. Bump* anyone heard anything ?
  20. Bump* anyone heard anything?
  21. Any news on Howard? Still nothing. I am going crazy. This is not cool!
  22. Congrats on your decisions! you'll love dallas
  23. Yeah some don't, I am assuming I am waitlisted for Howard because I have heard nothing from them. So some schools tell you and some just keep you holding on for deal life. I want to think of waitlist as gentle rejections. lol
  24. Its March30th and I still have yet to hear from Howard and UDC. LIKE SERIOUSLY. No rejection letters, no follow up , I ve tried to reach them without much response. I think UDC should be getting back to me this week.
