  1. Technically they are correct. But I don't see there is any reason that they will deviate from the timeline you predicted from your superb analysis. For all I know, 12th it will be...
  2. Hey if you guys permit, can we discuss our plans until the decisions are out? I got my Harris admit today with $20k. I was wondering about the decision making process when all my decisions are out....how are you guys planning to make your decisions? What considerations are you weighing? And where will an HKS admit fit into your plans? I'm really sorry to digress, but I thought it'll be a good discussion to have until the day...
  3. Seriously, Good luck to the two warriors of our group....Great performance!
  4. Well that looks like you, like most of us, haven't been selected to the CPL fellowships...
  5. Do you guys think gleitzman & dubin done? what are these mails afters shutting shop?
  6. you'll know in mid-march...interviews not required
  7. Wow...none here actually even heard from them....I'm very sorry for all of us keeping our hopes up long after we were kicked out...Good luck friends and wish us a great ending to the season. And keep up the community spirit!
  8. Wow, I guess this is what is at play...but why would they actually do all this cumbersome process then?
  9. @Novalue put it out perfectly...
  10. Well, I read somewhere that Public Service Fellowships are tens in number apparently...
  11. Even if your thoughts are logical, the HKS people steadfastly refuse to hint at any such inferences...so not sure how much of this interview thing will point at the admission decisions...
  12. Just by submitting the FinAid appn., the AdCom would consider us for many more Fellowships like the Kennedy Fellowship et al which need no separate application as such and are not listed. Those are essentially awarded based on the AdCom's evaluation of our application. And that money is sizeable.
  13. No matter CPL stuff...we're all anyway eligible for discretionary money awards made by the AdCom. Best of luck for ourselves! I can't believe we're again descending into the paranoia for another full day. Hope this will be it, no more tomorrows...
  14. BTW...Does anyone have any idea on what goes on in the interviews...? I've checked some discussions, but not much info forthcoming...How do you guys plan to prepare for a possible interview in such short time?
  15. Hey, does that mean that they keep sending emails in tranches until 'early next week' including sat/sun? or will they pick it up on starting Mon? (I need some rest for 2 days...) @KIMAMS you are the real deal! anxiety personified...
  16. This is nuts! It's just so much unnecessary anxiety that we are put through...can someone in the US call them up please?!
  17. Nope here....
  18. Thank you friend! Waiting has been the hardest part! Also finding solidarity in this group has been helpful. Lets keep it going until the results. It'd be a shame on CPL if this tiny community of anxious souls would not all get that cursed mail! Good luck to all of us before we face the day!
  19. this is cool to have some good activity on here...i thought hks conversation here is dying out for sometime. good luck!
  20. Me too friend...
  21. I have never seen Fletcher in top 10 or 20 or even 50 in the all too famous QS rankings while SAIS / HKS / SFS / SIPA are all up there. Is it about Tufts or QS?
  22. I know how this sounds....but I'm a MECHANICAL ENGINEER dreaming about a career in IR. On top of that, I'm from India. Please go through my post and any advice is super appreciated. I have been waiting to write to this post for a long time: Program: MPP/MA-IR Schools Applying To: Open to suggestions, but most likely SAIS MA,Columbia SIPA MIA, Ford MPP. Batten MPP, LBJ MGPS (appears pocket friendly) Undergrad: Mechanical Engineering (not from IITs, but in the next tier) graduated in 2014. Okay in Engineering Mathematics (which included Statistics). I think I'm at ease with some calculus. Did great in Managerial Economics (only economics module available). Overall performance - 68.5% (70%-Distinction) not sure of GPA (3.5?) Enrolled in an MA economics (Distance-mode). Already finished diplomas in International Humanitarian Law, Environmental law. Plan on taking DELF A1 French in June and A2 in December. GRE: 161 Q 162 V 5 AWA TOEFL: 117/120 Work Experience: Not 'relevant', but working as Asst. Manager in a public sector insurance corporation for a year in a very poor rural district that is declared as drought-struck. Before that, I spent a year reading everything from Indian History to World Geography. I was preparing for the public sector exams and read extensively about politics, iR, sociology etc. Volunteering: online volunteer for UNDP, and a few others, taught English for four years during college. Not much International experience except for a high profile conference. Presented a paper at an ILO conference on unemployability among engineering graduates. Published a few eclectic pieces in a few national dailies and an insurance journal. How do I weigh for the programs I mentioned above? It'd be great to know if I should go for an MA-IR or MPP with IR concentration. Also any other suggestions about good programs will be great too. How can I improve my profile to appear appealing to the admssions committee? Apologies for being too detailed....
