  1. That was my problem too - over 21k per year on tuition alone + living costs in Toronto turned me away from Munk - especially the lack of funding they offer. Especially when there are significantly cheaper and comparable or even better programs here in Ottawa (GSPIA + NPSIA). Munk does look great but not great enough to justify its extreme price tag (IMO). I applied to GSPIA, NPSIA, uOttawa's Master of Public Administration, and Carleton's Master of Public Policy and Administration. I work at Global Affairs currently, so it was in my best interest to stay in Ottawa anyways so I could continue my employment there during my studies. How about you?
  2. Some people get offers around the beginning of March! It's unfortunate because I would have loved to apply/attend Munk but its tuition fees are crazy.
  3. Someone from GSPIA said I could expect answer by the beginning of March so it seems promising!
  4. So there's a good chance acceptances can start rolling out this week you think?!
  5. Are people on this forum still finishing their undergrad or have some took a bit of time off since undergrad?
  6. I agree! I think this week we will start to see some movement! The more I research the programs the more I'm dying to study at GSPIA. The profs are doing such cool research ( I follow some on Twitter) and they're so active and inspiring! I think we would all be super lucky to study there. Hoping we all get some answers next week
  7. Yup! I used to work for uOttawa when I studied there and I always worked during reading week. It's just classes that are cancelled.
  8. No the administration still works during reading week! I checked Carleton's website.
  9. Also just realized it's family day on Monday and the schools will be closed, so I guess no more movement until Tuesday.
  10. Ugh mine too. uOttawa sent me an email saying my file is now complete and is ready to be evaluated - please expect an answer around the beginning of March" ( note that my application has been "under evaluation since before the deadline".
  11. Once it's at recommended for assessment, that's when your application is sent to the admissions committee!
  12. I thought it's usually 300 - this is what I've read on past forums. And they accept usually 100? My last name starts with an S so it seems they're doing it alphabetically. The anxiety is very real. I obsessively check these statuses every 30 minutes haha.
  13. Update from NPSIA: they received over 400 applications this cycle so they are currently going through each one. Tabatha mentioned that it takes a lot of time to go through each one.
  14. Mine is still at prelimary review as well. I'm under evaluation for both uottawa apps, recommended for assessment for Carleton MPPA.
  15. Mine is on recommended for assessment and has been since before the application deadline.
  16. Hahaha checking the grad cafe is my favourite part of the day - no shame on this.
  17. PREACH ^. I was also considering this, but we need to be confident in our applications. It hasn't even been two weeks since the application deadlines - it is still very early in the process. I'm personally gonna try to limit myself checking the status' of my applications to twice a day. (Today I was literally checking every hour haha). The time will pass- stay patient gang
  18. I've been on recommended for assessment for Carleton's MPPA program before the deadline even passed - hopefully this means good things? Defs getting pretty anxious about NPSIA though! Hopefully it changes sometime this week. Thanks again for everyone taking the time to post on this forum - its helped so much and it's a great place to ease the nerves. You all rock!
