I will be working as a GA(graduate assistant) and I will be studying at DePaul University in their Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse program this upcoming September. I will be working in their Writing Lab for about 20 hours a week and will receive a small stipend plus a tuition waiver. There are opportunities in the program to lead undergraduate composition classes during the second year in the program.
This is really good information to know. I will be attending DePaul's Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse program and will be working as a GA in the Writing Lab for 20 hours a week. During my second year, I will have the opportunity to teach composition classes and work as a TA. I have been working as an English teacher at two elementary schools in South Korea for almost 2 years. I am looking forward to teaching adults and seeing the major differences between teaching adults and children.
Congratulations :). Yeah I am really glad that everything worked out. It can be tough applying for graduate school especially when receiving rejections. I applied to quite a few schools and only got into a few but I got into one of my top choices. I have learned that sometimes the one school you get into is the school that ends up being the right choice. Good luck to you in the future.
I love to go for the PHD in Rhetoric and Composition specializing in Second Language Writing because I love studying other languages and I want to do research in determining what resources second language learners would like to see in the classroom and the Writing Lab. Plus, I want everyone to start calling me doctor haha.
Congratulations to everyone on their acceptances. I have decided to attend the MA program for Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse at DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois starting in September 2017. I was offered full funding plus a stipend so I decided to take it. Good luck to everyone as you start your programs in the fall. :).
I have recently been accepted into the Master's program for Rhetoric, Writing, and Discourse at Depaul University in Chicago. I am looking at living in Lincoln Park or other surrounding neighborhoods. Are there any areas that people would recommend that are affordable and is pretty close to Lincoln Park?
Thank you. I am really excited to be moving to Chicago. I was just curious to see if anyone else was going to be a graduate student this fall at DePaul.
Nice to meet you all. I have recently been offered an graduate assistantship at DePaul University in Chicago for their MA in Writing, Rhetoric, and Discourse. I wanted to reach out and see if there were any other students who will be attending this program in the fall.
Thank you. I wanted to ask about how your stipend was and if it was easy getting around without a car. I am thinking about buying a car for next year after I get back to the states.
Thank you for letting me know. In Corvallis, was the overall environment? I am used to small town life and Corvallis seems a pretty decent sized town. Is it easy to get around by public transportation or is it wise to invest in a car?
Thank you for the advice. I have actually emailed the new faculty member who will being conducting ELL work. Oregon State is one of my top choices. Thank you so much.
I am currently applying for master's programs in rhetoric and composition for fall 2017.
I was looking at two different types of criteria when applying for master's programs
1. I am looking for a paid master's program.
2. I am looking for programs where you can specialize in second language writing.
Please recommend me any programs that you are aware of.
