  1. I’m currently at CUNY Queens, and am loving my experience so far. The program is small so you really get to know your classmates, and it’s a very supportive environment!
  2. I applied to both Hofstra and LIU Post. The LIU Post interview was very laid back. The woman just asked me why I wanted to be an SLP, and I believe she also asked me to describe one of my shadowing experiences. Also, if you got below a 4.0 you were asked to do a writing sample. Good luck!!
  3. I'm actually attending Queens College right now, not Hofstra. But when I went Hofstra's open house, it seemed like the girls in the program were really close, and that it was a supportive environment!
  4. I applied to LIU Post, Molloy, and Hofstra. I interviewed at both LIU Post and Molloy (I did a phone interview for Molloy). The LIU Post interview was really about getting to know you, as well as for you to share some of your experiences with why you want to be an SLP, and about observation experience. If you got below a 4.0 on the writing, they had you do a writing sample there. Molloy's interview was really short. I think it was just about why you chose to apply to Molloy, and why you wanted to be an SLP. They make everyone do a short writing sample. I was able to do mine via email. When I went to Hofstra's open house, I loved the program. I know they start their graduate students with clients right away (I think at LIU you don't start with clients until 2nd semester, but not positive). The girl who gave me a tour of the clinic could not have better things to say about their program. I initially put in a deposit before I heard back from the graduate school I'm currently attending! Good luck
  5. Does anyone know of any schools that offer online courses for communication disorders? I need 3 more credits in order to comple my prerequisites!
  6. A group was made! Look up Hofstra University MA SLP Class of 2019
  7. Hi - Does anyone know the typical salary range for an SLP job in early intervention? Is it the same or close to the salary that an SLP in a school setting would make? Thank you!
  8. Is anyone accepting their offer to Hofstra? I would love to get to know some people/start a FB group!
  9. I interviewed with Post 2/14 and still haven't heard anything...I emailed admissions, and they just sent me back a very general email saying they are still reviewing applications.
  10. No, not really. There were about 30-40 other people there, and it was pretty general. I would definitely still check it out though!
  11. I would definitely attend! I went to their open house two months ago, and I thought it was really informative. Made me love the program!
  12. I interviewed for LIU on 2/14 and still haven't heard anything. I'm freaking out because I thought the interview went really well. I hope it doesn't mean I'm rejected, but we'll see!
  13. Thank you so much! I'm a little less stressed now haha
  14. Has anyone had any experience with a group interview? I have a group interview next week at Queens College and was wondering what they were like!
  15. You only need to do a writing sample if you scored below a 4 on the writing section of the GRE!
  16. I would recommend spending a lot of time this summer studying for the GRE. Schools take all parts of your application into account, so a lower GPA could definitely be balanced out with a high GRE score . Good luck!
