MPA/MPP Applications, Fall 2017 (Canada)
msat replied to toward the ocean's topic in Psychology Forum
Thank you! It depends on the program/school. Where did you apply? -
Judging by last year's version of this thread, that what what we can supposedly expect. Theres a post about 2/3 of the way down by a user named VANATRICK, and he states that on Feb 28th he received an offer of admission from GSPIA.
-
It took about 2 to 3 business days. In the email you listed, did they provide you with a User id ? if so, then you can log in.
-
Once OUAC processes your application fee, they send confirmation to UOttawa, who then sends you an email with instructions on how to login to your account on uozone.uottawa.ca Once you are able to log in, you can view your application status.

MPA/MPP Applications, Fall 2017 (Canada)

I recently applied to the MPA @ UOttawa. This is in conjunction with my application to GSPIA and NPSIA. -
E-mailing documents to Uottawa is by far the most efficient method. Im excited, because by the end of the month admissions will start going out from OttawaU (as per last year's thread).
-
Saw both of them today! One assured me that she would have it uploaded by this evening. On a side note, I see that UOttawa processed my email containing my CV and letter of intent.
-
Im still stressing about these LORs...My referees confirmed today that they would submit them shortly. I need for Carleton to receive AT THE VERY LEAST 1 of my LORs by tonight, or else, Im gonna have to plead my case with Carleton tomorrow morning. Ugh, this is not a fun part of the application process!

NPSIA - Waiting on my referees to upload their LORs GSPIA - Waiting for them to acknowledge the receipt of all my documents/LORs
-
Looking at last year's thread, Feb 24th was around the time when the first set of offers started going out from GSPIA. NPSIA, on the other hand, was much later (Mid to late March).
-
Two in total: NPSIA and GSPIA. I decided against a couple of programs I originally set out to apply to because of some last minute information I was given on them. What I find interesting is that this time last year I was contemplating applying to approximately 6 to 7 programs. As the months passed, and I became increasingly aware of which ones were realistic and which ones weren't for myself, slowly by slowly, many of them fell by the wayside.
-
Just called Carleton, the lady I spoke to says "technically" the documents are due by the deadline. However, she usually allows about 1 - 2 days grace for the receipt/upload of those documents.
-
OttawaU is a fully bilingual institution. I believe in the letter of intent, one has to indicate their level of proficiency in French. Perhaps, time to pick up that phone again!
-
My assumption was that as long as you paid the application fee by the deadline, the supporting documents could arrive beyond the application deadline. I base this assumption on the fact that if one were to apply on the 31st (deadline being the 1st), its not physically possible for everything to get to OttawaU by the next day, unless you physically deliver everything in person, which for obvious reasons not everyone has the ability to do.
-
Its totally not unheard of to write "many" drafts of a letter of intent. I know some people who spent months writing theirs, others who spent less time, but wrote a dozen or so versions before finally settling on a particular edit. The deadlines are looming, but we must not lose focus on the task at hand, which is to write a good letter!

CV, Letter of intent = positive we can email! Your referees will submit electronically via a link that is sent to them after you submit application
-
When I spoke to a representative last week, she told me that CV and letter of intent could be submitted via email. In the case of transcripts, if you have done your studies at an Ontario university, you can submit an automatic request via the application form(for an extra charge - $12.00) so that your previous/current school sends them electronically to OttawaU. Btw, am I right in assuming that first round of admissions will happen towards mid to late February?
