  1. Does the school offer any funding for the program? I am considering applying for this program, but I'll admit, your post, along with other feedback I have gotten from U of T faculty concerning the program does not endow me with a whole lot of confidence in the program. Plus, the whole price tag associated with the program is a bit of a turnoff. I am currently a U of T student, and to date, I haven't heard any glowing reviews of the program. I chalked it up to it being a fairly new program, however, the more I investigate, the clearer the writing on the wall becomes. I also agree with your point that the MGA is a major cash cow! $22,000 per year!! CERES @ the Munk School is much better value and funding is generous (I have several friends in the program that have both, graduated, and are currently attending. All speak favourably about CERES)
  2. Both of you have much better CGPAs than myself. Mind you, my GPA for the last year was good and this year's should be good as well if things continue on the current track. I know that schools do look closely at the last two years of an applicants GPA. Moreover, I would argue that interning at Global Affairs and the UN are game changers on an application. Thats a lot more than most applicants can say they've done on their resumes! Currently, I have all of the paperwork done for the three schools I am applying to. Just waiting on some feedback for my letter of intent. Hopefully version 3.0 does the trick *fingers crossed*
  3. Well you shouldn't feel too bad about it given that you are already done the other ones. I am currently working on my applications, but its slow going as I am in the midst of exams.
  4. I was also gonna add that, I too, am currently taking the course. Like you, it is also a headache! Thank goodness GSPIA only wants the credit. I'd be equally happy to attend either of the Ottawa schools
  5. https://www.reddit.com/r/ottawa/comments/4cifkz/npsia_offer_of_admissions_w_conditions/ Sounds like it is a deal breaker
  6. Just out of curiosity, for those of you planning on applying to NPSIA have you completed your intro micro/macro credit with the sufficient grade ? I am wondering how much of a stickler they'll be for the grade part even if we have the credit for the course completed. Frankly, I don't think I can afford to pay $2,000 to complete an online course in micro/macro through Athabasca.
  7. Do a search as there is a NPSIA/MUNK/GSPIA 2017 Application thread
  8. According to friends of mine who applied for SSHRC last year, the process is time consuming and the selection process is rigorous. At first, I thought I might take a chance and apply, but its a lot of work and given the strength of my application I don't think I have much of a chance at being selected. That being said, those of you with stellar GPA's and impeccable CVs should definitely give it a shot. $17,000 is nothing to balk at!
  9. I will also be applying in the coming months to NPSIA, GSPIA and U of T's MPP. Best of luck to everyone applying for next year!
