  1. Blah, that's what I was afraid of.
  2. Do you guys think it's too late to still get interviews?
  3. Just accidentally sent a work email to one of my POIs... *face palm*
  4. Interesting. Thanks, that was helpful
  5. Okay, thanks! It just threw me off. Especially because it looks like they admit a small handful of people to their clinical program but only one to each of the other tracks. Which I still can't wrap my head around...
  6. I have my first interview Friday (ahh!) but I am kind of surprised about something. I received my itinerary and I have three back to back interviews with different faculty members. Two are within the program I applied to, the other is in the clinical program. Does anyone know what this might mean? Do you think they might try to get me to switch to a different program?
  7. This isn't a rejection but this made me laugh (even though I had no idea what it means) Ohio State University Economics, PhD (F18) Accepted via E-mail on 29 Jan 2018 ♦ A 29 Jan 2018 report spam Liars will die!
  8. Oh that's a bummer. If it's just an MA I am not sure if it's worth it. I would talk to her more about it though, ask for more information before telling her no. You could ask her if you could retake the GRE, but if you would have to take it right away and not have time to study then it would likely be a waste of your time and money. I am not a proponent of the GRE personally. I didn't do well either because the whole experience was just awful.
  9. I wouldn't rule it out as of yet. Tell her you will think about it and mention that you have other interviews. If you can ultimately get a PhD from this program though, would it really be so bad if you had to get another MA? Just something to think about.
  10. jumped the gun on my earlier post. just received my first official rejection. I was 90% sure it was coming but it still really hurts.
  11. I wish I had some advice other than to just try and keep yourself busy. Good luck, fingers crossed for you!
  12. That makes sense. I just wish things weren't always so vague!
  13. Does anybody ever get accepted without an interview? I just noticed my UNLV app changed from "under departmental review" to "pending decision". The interview invites were sent out the second week in January (as told to me by the administrator) and I didn't receive one so this seems odd. I would assume if anything it would have changed to "rejected". Any thoughts?
  14. To the person that got accepted to the behavioral neuro program at Binghamton please DM me? Thanks!
  15. UMass (Amherst) ( ECE ) Electrical And Computer Engineering, PhD (F18) Rejected via Website on 14 Jan 2018 ♦ I 14 Jan 2018 Really ?
  16. Thanks jk616 and psychonerd! Hopefully there is still time then
  17. Has anyone heard anything from Indiana University - Bloomington? I saw on their website that they have a departmental wide interview weekend February 16-18, so I feel like invites from all programs are probably sent around the same time.
  18. Honestly, it's hard to say but to me it sounds like they are not done going through applications yet so there is no news yet for anyone. Which is a good sign!
  19. Thanks! I don't want to sound too needy to the graduate student hosting me. I'll definitely put more thought into my outfit. So many variables to consider!
  20. Gotcha. Well it sounds like you've done your homework and they won't expect you to know everything. I think as long as you show you're familiar and interested then you should be fine. Try to prepare a few questions to ask them about their work and what they currently have going on. Other than that the interview will probably be more focused on you
  21. I'm can't really help you out with what to expect (I have no idea myself) but as for your POI, I suggest reading a few of their most recently published articles to help you become more familiar with their work
  22. That's a really good tip, thank you!
  23. For people that are traveling - what are you thoughts on plane attire? I am getting picked up at the airport but I current student (or students) and I am wondering if it's totally acceptable to wear comfy clothes or should I dress at least business casual? I don't want to look like a mess when I get off the plane but I also don't want to be super uncomfortable during my trip.
  24. Just discovered that one of my applications was missing a LOR *face palm*
  25. Thank you for that, it was really nice of you to take the time to say that! I know I need to put it into perspective but it's just such an exhausting process that it's hard not to take rejection (or perceived rejection) lightly. I know it's not over though and I do still have one Interview so I should just look on the bright side. Le sigh.
