  1. I think ever program is different so it's hard to go off of invites from the same school but different programs. I wouldn't worry yet
  2. I haven't heard anything yet. Frustrating but I've only seen one of the programs I've applied to send out interview invites so it might still be early for some programs
  3. Good luck! I went there for undergrad, you can PM me if you have any questions
  4. Honestly it seems like a malicious email to me. Not only for the reasons you mentioned but they would be answering these questions AFTER the deadline. You did the right thing letting the grad school now about this email. You should probably delete it
  5. You're welcome! I understand where you are coming from. But your experience sounds great!
  6. Undergrad GPA doesn't have to be the death of you as an applicant! (I've been trying to remind myself of the same). Having that research experience, publications, and presentations will definitely help! Especially if you have excellent LOR. If for some reason you don't make it through this round you might want to think of a post-bacc or terminal master's. I know that can be expensive but making up for those deficits can definitely help. Especially in a master's program so you can show you can excel in a graduate environment. At least, that's my opinion and we will see if it pays off. Good luck!
  7. Thanks! I'll keep an eye out for sure
  8. Congrats! Are you thinking the UC schools sent out invites around the same time? I applied to UCSB and I'm really hoping for an interview there
  9. Are they group interviews? I'm surprised they didn't offer you a choice of days. I'm sorry, that's so frustrating I agree with @SchoolPsychApplicant though. They should be understanding. I would offer to do a skype/phone interview but also try to offer some other dates that you would be available for an in person interview
  10. Thanks for the advice! That was really helpful. Especially the tip about making sure everything in the background is okay, I don't know if I would have thought of that! I love how helpful everyone is on this site. Really helps!
  11. That's good! Congrats again! I can understand where you are coming from. But I've heard from students who have been through the process (although not the same program type so that might make a difference) that group interviews can be annoying because if you aren't one of the first people to answer a question then the answers start to get repetitive. I don't know, I guess it all depends
  12. That's awesome, congrats! Good luck on your UCSD interview! I am sure you will be hearing about an official on campus interview soon! What was the Skype interview like? Did it feel awkward? I'm most worried about group interview situations where there are a group of applicants
  13. If the person who received and invite for the neuroscience program at University of Washington could PM me I would really appreciate it! I'm just wondering a specific faculty member reached out directly and what they said?
  14. Agreed! Good luck to you as well!
  15. Nice! I originally was going to apply to the behavioral neuro program at Colorado but I liked the research interests of the faculty in the behavioral, psychiatric, and statistical genetics track a lot more. What school is NEU? And did you like SUNY Buffalo?
  16. Hi all, I've seen threads for interviews and I thought I would start one for all of us that aren't applying to clinical programs! Feel free to share, ask questions, and vent! School: Track and/or specialization within psychology program: Interview type: Date: Good luck everyone!
  17. @songofgallifrey @Timemachines @pataka Thank you all! I am still nervous but I feel a bit better. I'll try not to worry yet...
  18. People are receiving interview invites already??!!
  19. Where did you go to find acceptance rates?
  20. Definitely put on your CV! I am unsure of what format you use citations but in APA format you would cite your conference something like this: Author(s). (year and month conference will beheld). Title of paper. Paper accepted for presentation at x conference, City, State (or country in your case). Example: Doe, J. (2018, March). Improving mental health stigma in the media. Paper accepted for presentation at the meeting of the American Psychological Association, San Francisco, CA.
  21. I guess there is no real benefit I am more just curious. I suppose it wouldn't really help, it would just add to me judging myself and assessing my chances of getting accepted - which would obviously be inaccurate and not help. I understand where you are coming from. I will leave it alone. Thanks!
  22. I am! I applied to the behavioral neuroscience track of the psychology PhD program. I'm anxious too who did you apply to work with?
  23. I have similar interests to you - what were your "safe" schools? I have a hard time figuring this out with grad programs. I've looked at rankings on usnews.com but I'm not sure if there is a better place to look? I've had similar problems with my GRE scores! Some schools seemed to have received them immediately while one is still telling me they don't have them but I sent them over a month ago super frustrating.
  24. RE: what your friends keep saying - I hate that! I also hate "you're smart, you will get in!" I will that was all it took
