  1. Congratulations! Was this on Friday? I applied to French Stream too and haven't heard back...Fingers are crossed, but I don't have my hopes up because I know I already was my POI's second choice in terms of grad students.
  2. Which OISE program? There's a few But, congrats!! That's amazing!! It's so nice to see people achieving their dreams on here I was accepted to the project stream, but I am waiting to hear back from McGill and Ottawa clinical before I make a decision. McGill is my dream school, but the counselling program offered less funding than the clinical! Wishing you the best of luck for your applications
  3. I think this is fairly subjective. Personally, I'd go to a school with a better reputation/better labs/better connection with the POI and take less funding, then be fully funded but not fully invested in the program. I think covering tuition and rent is more than enough but then again I'm 21 and have been living off of Mr. Noodle for 2 months so pretty much anything seems like a great offer to me!
  4. Ahh I see I wasn't the only one wondering this! Well, I wish all of us the best of luck, regardless
  5. To those who have heard back/gotten in to OISE SCCP...Did you all talk with the POI/get an interview at some point? I have heard zilch since November 15 when I applied, so I'm assuming that means I didn't get it...
  6. Thank you so much I hope everyone gets into a great program, we have all worked so hard to get here!
  7. I was accepted to the McGill Counselling MA program tonight! Not much internal funding offered, but still really excited! Hoping to hear back from CGS before the April 15th deadline for grad schools.
  8. Has anyone heard back from their POI for the SCCP Program at OISE? I haven't heard a thing...
  9. What?!? All of February to mid-March? That's so long! I wonder how the admissions process works, then...Because I know for Counselling at McGill it's a committee that gets together and makes the decisions before sending out offers. Is it like, prof by prof I wonder? Thanks for the info anyway...Good luck!
  10. I'm waiting for updates re: the Clinical PhD program as well...My status online still says "In Review"
  11. I want to say yes - but then again, it's up to the POI whether they are interviewing potential applicants or not. I haven't been contacted for an interview, but as I am an undergrad here, I feel that I may not get one at all. If you message me your POI I could potentially ask them what's going on, if I know them/work in their department.
  12. It's funny - the one program that contacted me for an interview was the one that I (thought) I had the least chances of being interviewed for. It was a bit of a stretch in terms of research interests, but in fact, this made it all the more interesting during the interview when we began brainstorming collaborative research possibilities. I think that common interests are important in general (i.e. developmental, neuroscience, etc). but in terms of population or area I feel that these are factors that can be flexible and your prof and you can work to find some common ground
  13. To all those who've applied to uOttawa, I spoke with a professor today and they told me that this week was when professors would be sent their list of potential students. In the coming weeks, maybe 2 or 3, is when they will be making their decisions and sending their rankings back to the committee for final admission decisions. So, don't stress about your application being "incomplete" online - this is normal and part of the new software system that was installed last semester!
  14. I haven't heard anything either...
  15. Got an email today from a POI at McGill (Counselling department) for an interview Monday morning. This is my first year applying to grad school, and my first interview. Has anyone interviewed at McGill? Even if you have had interviews with other schools, would anyone be so kind as to message me/reply to this comment with tips and FYI's for grad school interviews? I would much appreciate it! Best of luck to everyone with their respective applications!
  16. Hey everyone! I've been following the clinical psych forum, but I did apply to Counselling (Project) at McGill and I have an interview set up for Monday.
  17. My top choice is McGill Clinical, but I will also gladly accept uOttawa Clinical (French Stream). I've applied to McGill Counselling (Project) MA and Clinical PhD, uOttawa Clinical PhD, and OISE (SCCP) MA.
  18. Hey! Yes, I saw that someone got an interview for Counselling (Project stream). Congratulations! If you or anyone else has an interview for that program, and you happen to see this, can you message me your POI? I'm just curious as to whether or not mine are interested in conducting interviews. They both messaged me good luck but I haven't heard back other than that!
  19. Hey all! Long time GradCafe lurker, first time poster. I've applied to the Clinical Psych PhD stream at both McGill and uOttawa (French Stream), SCCP Program at OISE, and Counselling Psychology at McGill. If anyone's applied to these programs and heard back please message me! I'll be sure to post if I hear anything, good or bad! Let's do this
