  1. OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! She responded IMMEDIATELY to my email!! You saved my application!!
  2. Yeah I was editing mine up until close to the end as well. I haven't been able to talk to anyone particularly helpful via email and my documents are still showing as not received on the website I got a response from Rob Smith (Coordinator of Graduate Admissions) and he was not very helpful at all. Didn't even answer my questions. Do you know Michelle's email? I tried a google search and got nothing
  3. Thanks for that info! I just love this field. So many different paths you can take
  4. Yes I did. I actually sent my last two documents a few days ago. But I didn't realize that there was nowhere to submit it online. So I had to send it via mail. I'm hoping they receive it by tomorrow. And I actually just emailed them tonight about the status of my application and it gave me the same message about the 3-5 business days. Oh and how come you sent your documents via email instead of mail?
  5. Yeah I wouldn't assume I would get more money. I just wanted to know if anyone knew if that was the case or not. I actually had an interview with a school for children with auditory disabilities the other day and would've loved that experience, but it was just too far away. I don't know much about becoming an AVT. I just started a tab on it so I can do some research on it later. Do you have to become an SLP first in order to become an AVT or is sort of a separate field?
  6. Anyone planning on getting an advanced certificate? I think I'm interested in an Advanced certificate program in autism spectrum disorders but I'm not sure how or if that would benefit me career/money wise. What certs are you thinking of and what are the benefits you've found in receiving them?
  7. Ugh. Yeah, me too. I hope my personal statements and recommendation letters are strong enough for them to be willing to overlook my low GRE scores (3.0 AW, 141 Quant, 152 Verbal). GPA is good but may not be god enough for some schools (3.6)
  8. Most have 500-1000 word limits which is 1-2 pages double spaced 11/12 font (Times New Roman, Arial, or Calibri are the norm). So I would say try not to go over that since it seems they don't want to spend much time reading anything longer. But be careful! - the webpages with the application requirements don't always specify the details of the SOP. Make sure you create an account and look at the application itself then go to the Personal Statement tab most of them have; that's where you'll see all the details they need for it. I learned this the hard way and discovered a few days before a deadline that I had to write a totally new SOP for a school that did not mention a SOP at all on their requirements page. All the best!
  9. Hey all, I'm new here and just wanted to know about how many schools have you all applied to/will apply to and to which schools? I will be applying to 9 if all goes well, but NYU requires three different letters so I don't know if I will write those in time by the deadline. So I will be applying to 8 at the least (all NY schools).
