Don't worry. I'm sure something better will come along.
-
Hey. Thanks! I did actually. All 3 professors said that they don't have space in their groups.
-
Hey man! Congratulations! So did I, but no funding yet! However, I did get a fully funded PhD offer from Virginia Tech!
-
@luisalasnjr That's awesome! Hope he decides to fund you! Good luck

I understand. I'm in the same situation. I thought my profile was strong and I just got a reject from my "safety" school's PhD program. Impressing graduate committees as an international in difficult, but what can we do except hope that whatever is happening is for the better. Good luck to all in this season of anxiety.

Yeah, I have. Purdue (MS): got accepted with no word of funding. Minnesota (PhD): rejected That's all from the US. How about you?
-
Hey Guys! I was wondering - Have any of you heard back from Georgia Tech yet? I applied for the MS program (Aerospace Engg.) for Fall 2017 and I've already sent them like 3 emails. They are just not replying. :/ Do any of you have any information as to what's happening? Thanks a ton.
-
That's a good question! Is it bad that I don't have one?
-
I totally get this. I recently got accepted to Purdue and I asked what the deadline to accept the decision is. While I got the deadline (June 1), I was also advised to expedite my decision and visa process (I-20 request), as this year's visa process may take "significantly longer". They say that this is why they have decided to speed up their admission process as well. I'm from India BTW, so (apparently) I'm not supposed to be affected by the travel ban. :/

I agree with @shikkui Since you're going to be spending a majority of the time with your research and PI, you would rather choose the research you feel more strongly about. A boring town can always be managed, but being less connected to your research can lead to larger issues down the road.

I'm not sure yet, but I know for a fact that I can't afford this school without an RA.

@luisalasnjr That's nice to hear. Glad someone is in a similar situation! Well, I heard from Purdue today. Got accepted. However, they didn't give funding yet. They said I have to email profs for RAships.

Hello to@Kalman and the rest Prospective MS/PhD applicant here for Fall 17. Specialization: Aerodynamics @pvfm Congrats on the GA tech acceptance. That is SO early. They must have really liked you! Any word on funding yet? I've applied to TU Delft (accepted), Gerogia Tech, Univ. of Minnesota, UIUC, UTIAS, UMD College Park and a few more. Has anybody else heard back from any other school? I'm so nervous! On contacting UMN, I was told that all decisions will be sent out by 2nd week of Feb. @latticeB Heard back from UTIAS yet? I applied for the M.A.Sc.

I TOTALLY get it! In the same damn boat! Can't focus on work either.
-
Yes, UIUC is a better school, no doubt. I would prefer working in the U.S. after graduation, but given the sensitive nature of my field, it's difficult for non-citizens to get work in the Aerospace sector and with the current political climate, I would assume things aren't going to get any easier. Once I have the official letter, I will then try to gauge my chances for an RA/TA because without that, it is frightfully expensive! Thanks a lot for your help. Appreciate it
