  1. Yeah I applied to Munk and the School of Public Policy and Governance at U of T. SPPG is my first choice because my thesis supervisor used to supervise the director there and I had a fantastic experience when I visited the school because of the connection. Also, their focus aligns more with mine as I have spent a few summers in domestic intergovernmental affairs and would like to wind up there in the long run. Carleton is both of our backups, but I would really love to end up in Toronto. I am crossing my fingers but its going to be a long wait haha. We didn't expect that she would hear back from IBBME for a while, but yesterday they moved her application into "decision made" and it was a pretty big shock. She is also waiting to hear back from the Dalla Lana School for Epidemiology but that wont be for a while most likely.
  2. Same here! Also, my fiancé just got accepted into the biomedical engineering program at U of T today, so now there is even more pressure haha (their application deadline isn't even up). The sciences don't mess around!
  3. This is very good news to hear! I had a rough first year due to my fathers passing. However, after that my grades have improved greatly and I am going to finish with first class honours with distinction. I also have a very strong CV and letters of reference. But I have been quietly going crazy trying to figure out if my CGPA will be high enough compared to everyone else with 3.9CGPA's. So now I can take a little breath of fresh air and focus on my thesis haha.
  4. How come? Do you think that more people applied to the other schools then? Or that there is a general decline in international/global affairs related interest?
  5. This is just an FYI, but it looks like the Balsillie school has extended their deadline for applications to March 1st. I wont be applying to the program, but I just wanted to throw this info here if anyone was considering it :)!
  6. Oh that probably explains it haha. I completed my application on the 28th of January to the MPPA program. Best of luck with your application Also that is interesting about the Munk School. I wonder if the numbers are over inflated?
  7. Wow thats quick! I wonder if they are moving through the list alphabetically? My last name starts with J? Also regarding the Munk School, I had to resubmit my CV as I had an important addition to make that occurred after I submitted my application in the first week of January. Elysha allowed me to re-submit it, but also checked off a couple more boxes and waved the english requirement, so maybe I was just ahead of the queue because of that? Either way, no real difference because we will start getting first round admissions in early March? Also, I am curious but do we know how many people apply to the Munk School? I ended up meeting with the school during my fall reading break and they mentioned that there are around 1000 applicants yearly for 80 spots? However, I have seen figures of roughly 500-550 on here. Just trying to gauge how competitive the program is haha.
  8. Hey everyone! I just wanted to say hi and good luck to everyone in this thread! I have applied to the Munk School (MGA), School of Public Policy and Governance (MPP), and Carleton (MPPA). My number one choice at the moment is the SPPG, with the Munk School a close second. I just wanted to post an update that both of my applications to U of T have been placed into the "under review" category and my application to Carleton still has a "preliminary review required." Hopefully this will help everyone else gauge timelines for applications moving into the queue? From what I can gather first round admissions to the Munk School are made around the first week of March with the SPPG in the 2nd/3rd week and Carleton in the last week?
