  1. Oh thanks for the tip! Back to school sales would definitely be better timing for buying a computer.
  2. Something I am considering doing is waiting til Black Friday sales in the fall to buy a new computer. I have an Acer Chromebook which I love, and only cost me around $200 and I figured I can get by with it for the first couple months of grad school. I've also thought about possibly getting a desktop computer to have at home (since they are cheaper), while continuing to use my chromebook when I need something portable. Now I'm wondering if I can get by in grad school with just my chromebook...
  3. Dude, I practiced so many typical interview questions the night before! I wish I had known also, hah.
  4. This is how I felt too! We all agreed immediately, and more or less repeated ourselves with a few new points for the rest of the time. We all spoke about the same amount as well. I felt like everyone did a good job, but that nobody really stood out.
  5. I'm guessing UT Austin will send theirs next week, since last year they sent them around March 14.
  6. In an email I sent them a few weeks ago, the reply said we would get decisions "the first week of March" so I feel like today has to be the day!
  7. Any idea how many people got accepted and how many are on the waitlist? The email was very clear in that they don't want us to ask what number we are, hah.
  8. SDSU finally sent them! I guess I just had to complain about it on gradcafe for it to happen. I'm on the waitlist. Glad to at least have a chance still...
  9. Although on their website it says "Admissions decisions will be made by mid-March" so we may have to wait a bit longer. I just thought they might follow the same pattern as in recent years.
  10. Anyone else dying to hear from SDSU?!?! The past two years, they sent out decisions on February 26th... I'm getting impatient and I just want to know!
  11. Mine is at 10 AM on Monday. Hoping it doesn't last long since I'll have to drive back to San Diego that day. I can't miss more than one day of work. I'd like to know what everybody is studying too! I haven't had a chance to start yet and not sure I will have time to so I'm pretty nervous about that interview.
  12. Anyone have any idea how long the SFSU interview will last?
  13. I got an interview at SF State too! I'm not sure if I'm going in person yet. Having to be a part of the interview via Zoom sounds really awkward, haha. BUT flights are outrageously expensive so I'm considering a road trip.
  14. Congrats! Is it a group interview? I wonder if they've finished sending interviews email out (or if I have any chance of getting one still...) Good luck!
  15. I found that H & M had a lot of professional looking attire. I bought a pencil skirt and a long-sleeve button down collared shirt to wear. I'm no expert on interview attire though, so I'm hoping my outfit works okay!
  16. I think I saw that interviews were on March 7th last year too. That's not much time to plan for people who have to take off work, fly there, or perhaps have another interview/plans that day already. Yikes!
  17. Anyone heard anything about CSU Long Beach or San Francisco State giving out interviews yet?
  18. Mine is from 1-5. My friend and I were planning on carpooling until she asked me "Should we leave at 7?" and I got super confused. Although strangely enough, the subject of my email says "Morning Interview Session Details," I'm guessing by mistake.
  19. It looks like there are two different rounds of interviews-- some people have one that starts at 8 am and some people at 1 pm.
  20. I'll be going to the interview too! I remember reading somewhere that there was a group project and a writing assignment. In the email it says we might receive additional instructions. I'm hoping we do. Super nervous too!
