Sorry for the double post, but a question just occurred to me: the schools I've been accepted to wanted my official transcripts after admittance. Do I send transcripts to both schools, or wait until I know which offer I'm going to accept?

Thank you!!! Thank you!!! The main thing I did different was finish my M.A. The last time I applied, I had barely started my thesis, and hadn't quite figured out what my research interests were. I took two years to think, did some writing, got published. I also had about 20 people read my SOP -- this was crucial, as last time no one else but me and the adcomms ever saw that disaster. Revising it so many times, and having so many different eyeballs on it kind of forced me to focus my interests even further. I'm sorry I don't have a clear idea of What I Did Differently That Worked beyond waiting a bit. It was completely devastating to be totally shut out, but I want this enough that I was always going to reapply. It's also possible that this is just the right year for my interests. Who can say, really. THANK YOU!!!!

Accepted to UW-Madison rhet/comp!!!!!!??!??? I didn't get any further than the first sentence of the email, but OH MY GOD.

I'm expecting to hear from UW-Madison (today???) for rhet/comp. And apparently maybe Pittsburgh this week too, although I'm giving them another week or so before I start getting anxious.

27 here, don't know if that counts. As far as waiting for responses with an acceptance: it's weird. When I applied, I didn't really have a #1 Top Choice, which also isn't helping. I'm sure I'd be happy at OSU, but -- if I end up in a position to be able to choose -- probably I will end up making another spreadsheet to help me decide. Plus I'm on waitlists, and lord knows when I'll find out about those results. So basically, I'm still very stressed, though it's somewhat easier than it was a week ago. It is very, very nice to know that I'll have somewhere to be, come August. THIS. Who knew being accepted would trigger such Imposter Syndrome?? Ugh.

It took a couple days for the DGS at OSU to email me after the portal updated. I don't think it would be a problem to politely ask when you could expect to hear something, though. There's something really painful about waiting for that contact!
