  1. I got off the waitlist for Laurier’s 2-year MSW program :D.
  2. I’m going to Orillia Lakehead and would also like to know .
  3. Does anyone know how the selection process works once one is on the waitlist? Do they choose you based on your random position on the list or do they assess you in comparison to everyone else?
  4. I just got an email notifying me that I am on Lauriers waitlist for the 2 year full-time MSW program.
  5. I am on the Orillia campus. Ya in retrospect this route is actually a great option. I heard that because the classes you’re in enrolled in while completing placement are online, that you could do placement in your hometown. I live at home right now, so only having to move for 6 months would save me money!
  6. Guys! Lakehead has sent out decisions for their 1-year BSW program. Accepted!! Yay. I was rejected from Carleton, Windsor, York, and Western. I’m waiting for Laurier. But I feel extremely relieved that I got my backup.
  7. I’ve also heard that about practicum options! But you’re so right in that it would be an MSW after all is said and done. Plus I’m from London, so the commute wouldn’t be too bad!
  8. Yes. I applied to Carleton (rejected), King’s (Rejected), Windsor, York, Lakehead 1-year BSW and Laurier. Honestly, after being rejected at King’s and Carleton (the two I was most confident about) I am not too optimistic for York or Laurier acceptance.
  9. Windsor was also going to be my saving grace as I’ve heard not a lot of people apply there. However after reading this forum it seems it may be quite competitive as someone stated double the number of applicants applied this year.
  10. Has Lakehead sent out their offers for this year?
  11. It is. I’m actually really frustrated with the process at this point. It would be nice to know what they’re expecting/looking for. Online it said that approximately 1,000 hours is recommended to be competitive. I guess it depends on the applicant pool.
  12. Same . I also had about 4,000 hours of experience.
  13. I know I am wondering the same thing. My stomach is flipping!
  14. Aghhh! Mine hasn’t changed at all yet
  15. Thank-you! Is there many previous King’s students in the 2-year program?
