  1. More difficult, but still not hard. Only technical interview I had to do though. Also was interviewed at Duke, Northwestern, Columbia.
  2. Woah wait didn't see this until today. Someone got into Northwestern yesterday according to the results page.
  3. Yes, definitely hoping the best for everyone. Keep us updated if you hear anything from Brown!
  4. Haha, I like them too. Syracuse is a great school so it's nice to know you have something, which is how I feel about UVA. Honestly never thought I had a chance at Northwestern or Columbia. I'm in undergrad right now at a liberal arts college as an econ major, my GRE Q is over 90th percentile but my verbal is atrocious, I have no formal CS background(taking python and java online rn), my GPA is only a 3.6 (major is 3.8) and I've only had one internship in my life which had almost nothing to do with analytics. Research experience is limited to my thesis. So Northwestern is like a dream to me too. I'd go nuts.
  5. I've read a lot about this, especially first looking into programs in DS/Analytics since its such a trendy area for schools to hop onto and make more money using existing profs, classes, and such. but tbh, if the program has incredible career statistics (northwestern, NCSU come to mind) I think its 100% worth it. Especially because those are such technical programs; you're receiving hard skills that will help land you the job you want. I came across the Columbia Applied Analytics program and everyone on quora or whatever was calling it a cash cow program because it was in the school of professional studies. I didn't end up applying, but columbia has like 4 different programs that are slightly different from each other but same main idea. So I do think it happens... but I also think it depends on what you perceive the value as. With my POV, anything that provides me with the technical skills I currently lack, provides industry exposure, and has something sort of promising to me career wise (stats of the program graduates or programs from the same department that are successful) is worthwhile.
  6. I have an offer from UVA Data science, Duke MQM: Business Analytics (which ill turn down), and im waiting on UT Austin, Northwestern Analytics, Brown DS, and Columbia Business Analytics (brand new program in the IEOR Department). Northwestern is my #1 followed by columbia, both of which i had an interview for. so just an anxious mess now. I haven't even considered the undergraduates lol. I don't know, the results page in general makes me skeptical because you can throw anything out there that you want. lol. Im sure since theres more than one person posting about it that people have received decisions. Just not us yet, apparently.
  7. Honestly I'm super skeptical about the ones that were posted on the results page. They do say its rolling, so I wouldn't be worried. Is that a first choice for you? Do you know how many students they'll enroll?
  8. Really, did you get a response? Via email? I haven't heard anything.
  9. Doesnt NCSU have like a really fast decision deadline? Have you decided? Ya I'm waiting on Northwestern or Columbia which im expecting a reject or waitlist from but otherwise going to UVA if i dont get those.
  10. They said mid-March so sometime next week. I have a feeling I’m waitlisted as well. Also a good amount of people get in that don’t get interviews from what I can tell.
  11. Honestly, I have no idea. I personally have ranked schools based on where I want to be and what I've heard about the curriculum, but I don't know anything about Chicago's Computational Social Science program. I did just receive a "discussion" invitation to Northwestern.
  12. I was also accepted into the UVA program. I honestly think at that point you should just be comparing actual courses, name recognition, location, and cost of attendance (although I'm pretty sure they're extremely similar for that). They have such similar career placement outcomes that I feel like it's the little things that will make the difference here. Are you looking at any other programs at all?
  13. I did submit the video, I guess all we can do is wait, probably end of next week I'm assuming we'll hear. I also got accepted to UVA's data science masters program.
  14. Have you received an interview for Northwestern? The results page says a few people have been interviewed but on their website they say they don't technically do interviews. Wondering if it's bad to not have one. lolol.
  15. Have you heard anything from Brown MS Data Science? I also applied to the program and haven't heard anything since I submitted it in Jan.
  16. Definitely. They asked for an interview super fast but havent heard anything since. It's only been a week for me, but I thought I did well. Duke is nice since they have a strict outline of decisions. I feel lost with all these other schools, I get anxious every time I check my email haha. Well good luck!! Let me know if you hear anything from NWU, Duke, NC, or UT.
  17. NWU, Duke, Brown, Columbia, and UVA. Which Duke program did you apply to?
  18. hmm i just checked and mine says that too, but i think it has for awhile. On the side it bar though it just says "in review" whereas the top of the page says "Forwarded to graduate committee for review." Did you do a video essay? has yours been viewed by them? I did a private one (only accessed w the link) so I know if they've viewed it and they havent.
  19. I applied. i havent received any notifications and i applied for round 2. My file has said "in review" since a couple days after the Jan 8 deadline.
  20. Thank you! I was offered one on the second week of January. They gave me until Feb 2 to do it, with a bunch of different open interview times to pick from.
