Just wanted to say, you are not alone I also wish I had reviewed LA this summer. It just hadn't even occurred to me that would be useful. Everyone I've talked to seems to have had a very different Linear Algebra experience in undergrad... So there are a lot of people feeling the same way right now I'm sure. I think we will just have to get good at writing proofs quickly...

Yes, they said the admissions offfice must have been backed up. So they sent a signed letter on official letterhead promising me the funding. Ironically, I have now decided to take my other offer anyway... I am going to seem crazy to this department now after hounding them all week but it just didn’t feel right. This has been such a crazy experience. Glad to be done. Thanks for everyone’s advice!!

I was originally waitlisted for funding at a school and heard back last week from the graduate director that they are going to be able to fund me. The official offer letter was supposed to come early this week and I still don't have it. Talked to the director yesterday and was told they would try and have someone get it done that day.. Still don't have anything. I don't think the graduate director would lie to me but I feel uneasy turning down my other offer until I have something official from them... and if I don't get anything official today, it probably won't happen before the 15th. I also feel guilty holding onto a spot at another school if I am not going to go there.. Am I just being overly cautious?

I was waitlisted for funding at one of my top choices and just funded there!!! I paid for a trip to visit the school myself and told the director while I was there that this is my top choice but I have to make a decision about my other funded offers by April 15th. Shortly after getting home from the airport, I received an email with a funding offer. I definitely think visiting and showing that I really wanted to go there helped my chances. @Sparkybob I also still have 2 schools I haven't heard anything at all from... I'm just assuming they are rejections at this point. I emailed the departments and didn't get a response.

I was waitlisted for funding at my top choice but have an offer for full funding somewhere else. I really liked my visit at the school with full funding and know I'll be happy there if I don't end up getting funded at the other school... But I still really want to go to my top choice. They said I was near the top of the list but there is no guarantee I'll have an answer before April 15th.. How long do I wait?? Anyone else in a similar boat?

I don't know anything about Tallahassee but Boulder is an incredibly liberal town. And absolutely beautiful. It's kind of pricey to live in Boulder but if they offered my major that would've easily been my number one choice.

I can't speak for ME but for stats it seems that they keep an "unofficial" waiting list. Several rounds of acceptances and rejections have already gone out and yet several people still haven't heard anything. It seems like that could be what is what is going on in your department too... So not hearing anything probably means you still have a chance!

Got my rejection letter from Michigan finally this morning. Ugh.

Rejected yesterday from Penn State, informed today there was a glitch in the system and I'm on the waiting list... Neither email was personally addressed.. Not very impressed by their program at the moment.

@NumStats It's definitely nerve wracking . I got my first acceptance yesterday after three rejections (HUGE sigh of relief!). You still have a lot of schools to go! All it takes is one.
