yep, mine vanished. I've had a medication problem the last few days so I've been extra emotional and this isn't helping.

@Bopie5holy cow, I feel the same way. feel proud that you did ALL OF THAT and still apply to 59693 schools with (just my opinion, fwiw) a great sop and plan of study. my mental and physical health on top of work and full courseload were not optimum last semester but I feel like applying next cycle when I'll be working full time won't be fun but might be easier just being in new surroundings and older. fingers crossed for you either way!

i saw one interview request posted for penn on the 1st and one a day or so ago but haven't put much stock in them.

i just searched for chicago cinema/media and saw the acceptance- CONGRATS, stranger! (i'm afraid this prob means a rejection for me, but still happy for them)

i'm applying to a few english mas that have late deadlines (for backup) and i had re-tooled my sop for the english programs i did apply to already but i feel a little lost changing up the statement again to fit a master's program. does anyone have any advice ?

congrats! i'm into russian/slavic literature and film and concepts of collective memory, national identity, and time/spatial relations are communicated in those mediums over time. also into political iconography and propaganda media, eastern european modernism, depictions of urban spaces... i have kind of a lot of interests. i think maybe you mentioned yours over on the lit/comp board but what are yours?

same, i'm at work (11pm-7am est) and checking at 2 am on a sunday is obviously futile but i have nothing else to do, really

move to philly or chicago, hopefully not keep my crappy job but in another city, keep avoiding my mounting student loans and reapply.

a while ago, a customer at work and i were talking about my school because she was visiting campus with her son. she asked what i wanted to do with an English major and i said i was applying to comp lit grad programs... she was already being snooty because her son is ~pre med~ and asked me why i chose "competitive literature" because it sounds useless. my parents said do what makes you happy so i got lucky there

same, I'm already thinking about it and who I'll ask for recs/new-ish improved research focus/etc. i don't know if there's a specific thread, though. trying to stay positive but also be realistic.
