Penn is closed tomorrow (or today, rather) fyi

a Philadelphia area code called me today and i nearly fell off the elliptical because i thought it might be penn somehow. answered huffing and puffing and it was a job i applied to saying they wanted someone sooner than may. either way it was embarrassing.

that doesn't make me feel too hopeful as a bantamweight state school applicant.

i almost did but recall a way that something was worded in the application bothering me (i sound like george costanza right now, i know) that discouraged me from going through with it

i've only been in march or december and absolutely loved it, but i'm in florida so maybe it was the novelty of real! cold! congrats, everyone

guessing nyu is implied or flat out rejection. just waiting on pittsburgh (also implied at this point) and upenn (who knows.)

solidarity. i like what ive heard about maph so far, honestly, and they do have good placement.

if one more law school sends me an email about admissions with a shellacking header i will scream.

rejected from northwestern, implied rejection from nyu, referred to maph for Chicago cinema, nothing from Pittsburgh yet. couldn't really afford to apply more places.

not feeling too good about nyu. pretty much accepting that this cycle is a shut out

it's my first choice got a referral to ma and waiting there, rejection, waitlist, and silence so unless there's a miracle i guess this season is a shut out. oh well

i feel like they made their choice but i really hope not. i only saw two on the results thread; guessing super tiny cohort.

i received a letter from an, uh, intense jeopardy fan who found my address online (he appears to have autism and going by posts from others, this isn't his first awkward letter to a female contestant) who wrote that i am a "beautiful shining intelligent star" and all i could think was "gd, i wish the adcoms felt that way about me, too."

thanks! yeah, i gave it a line and a half. the first three or so semesters of undergrad for me were rough for a slew of reasons but from there it was nothing but up. it just felt painful enough having to upload those transcripts so many times this year.

another random thought about applying for next cycle: i was already furious having to submit transcripts with grades over half a decade old that were very, very low and feeling the need to explain in my sop. waiting a year and submitting those same transcripts (that will be a full nine years old at that point) is probably going to enrage me again.

i wanted another tattoo when my grant money came in but I'm saving it for dental stuff/vacation/moving expenses. got my 13th tattoo in October and it's been far too long since.

i regret not applying to Rochester visual studies. definitely doing that next cycle. i worry about having a year off and writing samples but still hoping I'm not a total shut out this year.

yeah, daniel morgan from cinema wrote mine. i named robert bird as my main poi. i got the referral to maph, though, i guess. congrats to everyone getting acceptances and waitlists, btw. super excited for everyone!
